Overview

The 997 is Porsche’s best-selling iteration of the indefatigable 911. And it’s easy to see why: it does what it was designed to do extremely well, i.e. being a Porsche 911. It’s exactly what you’d home for when you order a 911. Engine at the back, reassuringly teutonic engineering underneath, and a whole host of options to choose from.

The car we see here is the Carrera S version which features some engineering wizardry to bump up its power output, top speed, and torque. The ’S’ also includes Porsche Active Suspension Management and 19-inch alloy wheels, helping achieve its widely-regarded strong handling, and enjoyable driving experience.

This example has also recently received an internal inspection of its cylinder bores, which were found to be in good condition. It also comes with a well-stamped service record showing that it was serviced every other year between 2005 and 2017. The MOT expires in Aug 2025, and is free from advisory issues.

If you’re looking for a well-regarded 911 which offers a no-nonsense driving experience, then this 997 Carrera S is one for you. It shows just how good Porsche’s design team were, given that this car is nearly twenty years old, and looks far newer.
