Overview
Every year winter arrives. It’s been happening for some time now. And every year it seems to surprise headline writers and water cooler conversationalists. It also surprises the motoring public, who all suddenly wish they’d bought the all-wheel drive version of whatever they’re driving. Well such regrets are not an issue when you buy an Impreza. Its flat-four engine always sends its power to all four wheels, so you can drive with gusto even when the leaves and snow are falling.
This particular Impreza is a WRX-S model, which brings some useful aesthetic enhancements and a Prodrive Performance Pack that increases power to 251bhp which drops the 0-60 time by a couple of tenths vs the standard WRX. All this is in a small yet very practical package, with plenty of load-carrying capacity. So next time you need to take a bootful of supplies down a muddy lane in Winter, you’ll be glad you chose this Impreza.
The car has clearly been looked after, with reupholstered front seats, a resprayed bonnet, and new exhaust sections. It benefits from a long advisory-free MOT and a new clutch. As such, the vendor reports a smooth gearchange, and a sonorous roar as the engine fires into life.
So if you’re looking for a very capable car, which is far more practical than its bonnet scoop would suggest, then this WRX-S has a lot to offer. And you get the benefit of bright red paintwork, as well as a well-reserved interior.
