Overview
If you want to make your Land Rover a bit more Land Rovery, there are a few sure-fire ways of going about it. First, add a snorkel and a winch, so you can go about doing Land Rover things, like getting wet and getting stuck. Then add a roof rack so you can carry Land Rover things like passengers and livestock. Finally, raise the suspension so you can do Land Rover things from a little bit higher up.
This Defender 90 has all these features and more, with the reassuring addition of a galvanised chassis. So it’ll do Land Rover things without falling apart. And it even has the practical, fold-away rear seating, bringing its total occupant count to six — excluding the roof rack.
Finished in a suitably green shade of Epsom Green, and with enormous Maxxis Worm Drive tyres, this Defender will look at home whether you’re bumbling along country lanes, or herding sheep in a field. And it’s now in a state of lightly mellowed use, so you won’t be afraid to use it to the full.
So unless you’re looking for something to take to a concours d’élégance or to exhibit in a museum, this short-wheelbase Defender is the go-anywhere, do-anything car you’ve always dreamed of.
