Overview
Sometimes in order to stay the same you have to change. And the Morgan Motor Company is a master of this perilous balancing act. This most British of manufacturers was founded in 1910 and has spent the past 115 years going against the grain with great success.
From the beginning they’ve been happily producing cars which hark back to an earlier age. The classic styling, the running boards, the three windscreen wipers. It’s all a bit old fashioned. But in a good way. Nobody worried about keeping up with the latest fashions buys a Morgan. Even the very notion of a two-seater sportscar is not something most manufacturers would consider a priority these days. But Morgan isn’t ‘most manufacturers’.
And yet this generation of Plus Four manages to be unashamed in its use of a bonded aluminium platform. Such witchcraft brings the company thoroughly into the 21st Century, and it’s all the better for it. Even the name has been updated subtly, previously the model was simply the +4. Admittedly, not a radical change.
This particular car takes the classical shape of the Plus Four and finishes it with a sleek, almost modern, shade of gloss black paint. The matching black leather interior, black wheels, and chrome trim add to the car’s monochrome styling, giving it a smart finish and purposeful road presence.
And being only three years old, this car is in excellent all-round condition. It has been serviced by Morgan and there are no reported mechanical issues. So you can jump in and drive it whenever the fancy takes you.
