Overview
If you’re going to get wet, you may as well go swimming. It’s a principle we’ve always adhered to, and may explain an overabundance of “it’ll be finished next year, we swear” projects lurking in our garage (there is a point coming in the near future, we promise). You see, when it comes to racing, it’s a principle that really does make sense. If you’re going to make a track car, you should probably make it from something that was already pretty damn good in the first place, and go all in.
As any good petrolhead knows, if you’re after something small and punchy, with razor-sharp handling, and plenty of high-quality motorsport components available, you can’t do much better than the Porsche Boxster 986S.
This being the ‘S’ model, it benefits from the more powerful 3.2-litre flat-six, which not only pumps out a meaty 248bhp, but sounds absolutely incredible while it does so. Combined with the Boxster’s legendarily fine chassis, it makes for an intoxicating blend even before you start stripping it and installing go-faster bits.
Which, as you can see, is precisely what the vendor has done. They took a stock, straight and tidy 986S off the road in 2021 and packaged it off to EMC Motorsport for them to work their magic. And magic certainly ensued. Out came the engine and transmission, ready for multiple upgrades and checks, in went all manner of race-bred bits and pieces, from a competition clutch to a custom roll cage and extinguisher system. A hardtop was also acquired, along with an extra set of competition wheels and tyres, and what was once a slightly tired little sports car was now a rip-snorting, chest-thumping track monster.
Much more work has been done than we can possibly go into here, but just check out the pictures and specification list below to see more details of the incredible amount of work that’s gone into this little Porsche. If you’re looking to get a jump-start on the competition for the 2025 track season, this would be a fantastic choice.

Summary
We all love a race car. And we like to think that, should we ever get the chance to get behind the wheel of one, we might actually be able to hold our own in a pack of similar racers. If the thought of tearing through Maggots flat out and indulging in the odd moment of Plato-style bumper-nudging appeals to you, then this is the perfect opportunity to find out if you really can pedal.
Alternatively, maybe you’re a seasoned racer who had a little “moment” and now requires a new race car. Well, here it is – all sorted and ready to go.
This cracking little Porsche has been converted for track work by professionals, using high-grade parts. We’re not talking about something that Darren has banged together in his Garage over a few wet weekends with the help of the Demon-Tweeks catalogue and YouTube. This is the real deal.
So why not find out just how good you really are? Who knows, this could be just the thing to unlock your potential…
