Overview

Porsche power for all the family - or at least that’s what we would suggest for the Panamera’s marketing tagline, as here is a genuine four-seater Porsche that’s not an SUV, which the whole family can enjoy. (Unless you have a family of 5 or more, then you’re still out of luck.)

Introduced to the world in 2009 to a lukewarm reception thanks to Porsche’s deviation from their usual ethos of lightweight, performance-focused cars (with exception of the Cayenne) the Panamera quickly proved it’s worthy of the Porsche crest, with a range of models from the V6 and diesel V6 models all the way through to the performance GTS, Turbo and Turbo S variants. 

This example is one of the latter - a 2014-registered Panamera GTS, featuring the PTM (Porsche Traction Management) four-wheel drive system, allowing it to be enjoyed in all weathers, as well as producing a notable 0.96g of lateral acceleration force. 

With a number of desirable options specified from new including memory front seats, a valved sports exhaust and numerous carbon-fibre trims throughout the cabin in addition to the generous GTS factory specification, this Panamera has been cossetted throughout its lifetime, and has the added benefit of having being under Porsche Warranty for the duration of the seller’s ownership, meaning any issues have been attended to irrespective of cost. 

With these first-generation (970) Panameras starting to have their moment in the sun, this would be a fantastic opportunity to purchase one that has been kept in top condition, and presents in a manner akin to a vehicle with half of the age and mileage.

Interior

• The cabin of this Panamera is in exemplary condition throughout, with the seller noting that the leather is “the best of any car” that he’s owned, barely showing any signs of use despite being 11 years old

• Looking closely, there is little evidence of the seats being used other than a few small creases

• The rear nearside door aperture and sill trim shows some light scratches and abrasions

• The dashboard plastics around the Sports Chrono clock show some light marks, as do the high-traffic areas such as the shifter

• This is a well-optioned example with desirable heated and memory-function seats, carbon-fibre dash and door trims, a valved exhaust and the all-important Sports Chrono package

• The seller points out that there is a small piece of chrome trim missing from one of the window switches

• There are no reported faults or issues, nor any illuminated warning lights 

Exterior

• On the outside, this Panamera GTS continues to defy its age and shrugs off its years with apparent ease

• There are a few notable blemishes, specifically a scratch on the nearside front bumper intake, some stone chips on the front end and a few light marks on the rear bumper

• The underside of the front bumper splitter is scuffed, though this is hidden in day-to-day use

• All four wheels exhibit signs of kerb rash or lacquer damage

• As far as we can see, there are no signs of any dents, dings or impact damage, nor any mis-aligned panels

• Overall, this is a well-kept example of the Panamera that shows little in the way of age-related wear, but would perhaps benefit from a wheel refurbishment to bring it back to its best

Mechanical

• 4.8-litre V8 petrol engine, producing 434bhp and 383lb-ft of torque

• Seven-speed PDK automatic transmission with paddle shift

• Four wheel drive (PTM)

• In the engine bay, everything looks to be in good order with no obvious issues making themselves known, though there is little to see thanks to the modern trend of covering the engine itself with a number of trims and panels

• The front brake pads and wear sensors were replaced in Nov 2024

• The seller notes that the tyres will “likely need replacing in a few thousand miles”

• There is a reported noise from the active spoiler when it retracts, but as it functions correctly, the seller has never seen cause for further investigation

• Other than the aforementioned spoiler noise, there are no reported mechanical or electrical faults, with any known issues addressed through the Porsche warranty system

Summary

Having covered circa 5,500 miles in the seller’s ownership, this is a great opportunity for you to obtain a ready-to-use Panamera GTS that has clearly been cherished and cossetted by its owners, meaning there seems to be little to do other than to fill it with fuel, point due South and take the entire family to the French Riviera. At least, that’s what we’d do!
