Overview

Taking its inspiration from the Lotus Seven, Westfield’s catalogue of cars are designed along the same ethos of offering a stripped-back, all-consuming driving experience for those looking for the purest driving experience on offer, with no creature comforts - they don’t even have real doors!

Offered for sale in various forms, this Westfield that is offered for sale is an ‘FW’ model - meaning full-width - and has benefitted from a number of tasteful upgrades over the years, including having a Rotrex supercharger strapped to its 2.0-litre ‘Blacktop’ Ford Zetec engine.

Raw, engaging, demanding and blisteringly fast - these are all adjectives that can be used to describe the bog-standard Westfield FW. Now, strap a supercharger to it, map the engine to produce 260bhp, and watch as your passengers’ face dissolves into the headrest as you fly down the road.

You may struggle to convince your partner/wife/family/significant others/friends that there is any logic involved with the purchase of this Westfield; It will be a fully heart-lead purchase, but when you picture yourself sat snugly in that driver’s seat, listening to the supercharger whine as your surroundings blur past you as you’re laser-focused on the next corner ahead, that is all the justification you’ll need. You know you’ve always wanted one…

Interior

  • Driver-focused, paired-back interior in good overall condition, exhibiting the various signs of life that you’d expect to see in an open-topped sports car without doors

  • The leather-trimmed dashboard is scuffed around the driver’s leg aperture, and on the upper edge of the instrument binnacle

  • The leather covers for both door apertures are in good condition

  • Both Sports Cobra seats present well, with contrasting red piping and minimal wear to the outer bolsters

  • The removable steering wheel is patinated from years of use and enjoyment, as are the other high-traffic areas such as the shifter and switchgear

  • Being very particular, we noted some light staining to the harnesses - particularly on the passenger side - along with some wear-and-tear to the carpets

  • There are no reported faults with any of the electrical systems or switchgear

Exterior

  • Widebody ‘FW’ Westfield bodywork and paint in excellent condition

  • The paintwork looks to be very good throughout, with no signs of any scuffs or impact damage to the body

  • The usual smattering of stone chips are present to the front end and arches, as expected from a high-performance vehicle

  • The front mudguards and the leading edges of the rear arches are finished in carbon-fibre

  • A full Caged Laser Engineering roll cage has been fitted to improve occupant safety

  • Carbon-fibre headlight pods and other detailing

  • The exhaust is a 4-2-1 item with carbon-fibre silencer sections, and is lightly patinated from years of heat cycles and use

  • Elsewhere, we noted some chips around the engine cover catches, around the fuel filler, and a small chip on the offside rear wheel.

  • 15-inch Team Dynamics wheels, wrapped in Toyo R888R tyres that have reportedly covered less than 2,000 miles since fitting

  • Overall, a very well-kept example of the arresting Westfield FW that would draw plenty of attention and admiration wherever it goes

Mechanical

  • 2.0-litre Ford Zetec ‘blacktop’ engine that has been significantly upgraded over the years with forged internals

  • The seller states that the car has been mapped by Northampton Motorsport to run 260bhp

  • ‘Type 9’ five-speed manual gearbox, sending power to the rear wheels via a Quaife limited slip differential which was reportedly rebuilt just after the seller bought the car under the warranty from Toybox

  • Piper uprated valve springs, Wosner pistons, PEC rods

  • TTS Rotrex supercharger kit

  • Less than 1,000 miles covered since supercharger conversion

  • Main and big-end bearings replaced during build

  • ARP bolts throughout

  • 3-bar map sensor

  • Bosch ‘green giant’ 440cc injectors

  • Omex throttle bodies

  • Omex 600 ECU

  • Mocal remote oil filter with auxiliary cooler

  • Coolex radiator and intercooler running Evans waterless coolant

  • Viper Performance silicone hoses

  • Sytech turbo valve

  • Wasp alternator

  • Westfield Wilwood brakes

  • 4-to-1 exhaust with carbon-fibre silencer

  • Adjustable dampers all round

  • The seller notes that this ‘FW’ exhibits the common Westfield foible of being tricky to start when hot, which is reportedly due to being fitted with such a small battery compartment - a jump pack is often carried by members of the Westfield club to circumvent this issue

  • Other than the above note, there are no reported faults or issues with the car

  • “Not for the faint hearted!”
