Overview

BMW's seminal super saloon has been winning the hearts and minds of petrolheads ever since its inception way back in 1984 when the company's motorsport division pinched the legendary six-cylinder M88/3 engine from its M1 sports car and dropped it into the E28 5 Series. A genius move, quite frankly.

The results spoke for themselves - BMW had created the fastest production saloon car in the world. With Ferrari-bothering levels of performance (it actually had more power than a Ferrari 328 at the time) but with the comfort and practicality of a family car, the original M5 set the template, and indeed the benchmark, by which all comers would be measured.

On to its seventh generation and still wowing crowds today, the M5 has consistently been at the forefront of what is possible to achieve when it comes to performance saloon cars. From that original E28, to the E34 and E39 and beyond, the M5 remains a stalwart of the classic and modern classic car scenes, but its the E60 that's the focus today ladies and gentlemen because we have this rather immaculate, black on black 2007 E60 M5 available for your bidding pleasure.

The E60 broke cover in 2004 and came with a normally aspirated, F1-Derived 5.0-litre V10 engine producing a whopping 500bhp. With two more cylinders than its predecessor the car was rightly lauded, among other things, for its powerplant and it remains the last M5 to not feature forced induction.

Being the post-2007 facelift variant this particular example has the updated seven-speed paddle-shift SMG gearbox as well as some exterior tweaks. Meticulously maintained the car has clearly been coveted and comes with full BMW main dealer service history.
