Overview
Eschewing its penchant for creating lightweight sports cars with the engine well and truly in the rear (we're looking at you 911), Porsche decided to build a full-size, front-engined luxury hatchback in 2009, unleashing the Panamera onto an unsuspecting public. And it was glorious.
The car may have split the room in terms of its styling but it was powered by a host of V6 and V8 engines in various states of tune and available with turbos and superchargers galore (as well as a later hybrid version) so it had plenty of get up and go. Not only that, but buyers were assured of the usual impeccable build quality now commensurate with any new Porsche.
The second generation broke cover in 2016 and featured a redesigned rear end, larger overall footprint and improved interior and dash display, as well as a whole new range of engines, including the devastatingly rapid 4.0-litre twin-turbocharged V8 with electric motor as found in the Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid, which just so happens to be the model we have available here.
With 671bhp combined, this 2017 Porsche Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid – a full size luxury car that weighs almost two-and-a-half tons let's not forget – puts many a true sports car to shame and can hit 60mph from parked in about three-and-a-half seconds. A low mileage example and with full Porsche Centre service history, it's a beautifully presented vehicle.
With four driving modes (Pure Electric, Hybrid, Sport and Sport+) depending on whether you want to prioritise efficiency or go full send, the car is an incredibly dynamic machine and includes features such as regenerative braking, battery management, and launch control. This then is an incredibly high end, performance oriented luxury sports tourer that ticks all the right boxes.

Summary
This is Porsche doing what Porsche does best; a blisteringly fast but inherently comfortable car that handles impeccably. It's a big car but it belies its size and weight beautifully – think giant 911 and you'll begin to understand just how good, and practical, it actually is.
Fully customisable, meticulously maintained and with full service history, this Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid is a wonderful representation of the marque and with just 50K on the clock it's only just bedded in.
