Overview

There have been quite a lot of 911s. And by that we don’t just mean the bewildering array of models which have been released over the years, with digits, decimal points, and option packs flying all over the place. We also mean that there have been a lot of individual 911s built over the years, a fact which will not have gone unnoticed by the kind of learned scholars who frequent the pages of this website. But to illustrate this very obvious point, we note that the millionth 911 officially built was a 991.2, with nearly a quarter of that first million 911s being 991s. 

The example we see here started life by being shipped to the United Arab Emirates, where it had been ordered to the customer’s specification, which included luxuries like contrasting grey seat belts. Finished in Jet Black Metallic paint, with matching black leather interior, this 911 is suave with just a hint of menace about it to show you it means business. Obviously one can only reach a certain level of menace in a soft top convertible, which makes this car extremely suited to sunset drives along your choice of corniche road, particularly with the steering wheel being on the correct side for European jaunts. 

In 2019 the car was brought to the UK, and has only been used sparingly. Its mileage remains around the 35,000 mark, and the general condition is that of a car which has led a gentle life. Careful storage has kept the soft top roof looking fresh and smart, and the well appointed interior remains smart.

Summary

There are few garages which wouldn’t be improved by the addition of a 911. And this particularly smart example of a 991 has a lot going for it. You might as well enjoy the last throes of summer in a convertible, and that car might as well be a Porsche.
