Overview
The Continental GT really was a landmark model for Bentley and one that is still being made today, which should speak volumes as to its enduring popularity. Not only was it a huge step forward in terms of design and manufacture for Bentley but it was also the car that arguably saved the company. Aimed at a broader audience the Continental GT was a huge hit that greatly contributed to (and perhaps even facilitated) the current success that the British auto maker enjoys.
With its elegant, understated styling, opulent interior, smooth ride and whopping great 6.0-litre twin-turbocharged W12 engine producing 560bhp through all four wheels it was quite the statement and remains a perfect example of what a great GT car should be.
Continually developed since its debut way back in 2002 at the Paris Motor Show, the Bentley Continental GT makes for an excellent used purchase, especially the earlier models where there are plenty of potential bargains to be had.
The second generation, introduced in 2011, saw the inclusion of a 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 alongside the original W12. Either is an excellent choice, it just depends on your preference with both the 12-cylinder and V8 being hugely evocative and exciting, harking back to a simpler time before the proliferation of fully electric, or even hybrid powertrains.
What we have here is an early second generation Bentley Continental GT in a fascinating colour combination, complete with that burly but refined W12 engine and eight-speed tiptronic automatic gearbox – perfect for those long, epic road trips the car was built for.
A low mileage, beautifully presented and fastidiously maintained example with up to date Bentley service history, this is a turn key GT that's ready and waiting for its next lucky owner.
