Overview
The Skyline may be the more famous of Nissan's sporting models but there was another offering from the Japanese giant that grabbed its fair share of headlines, and indeed lap times: the 300ZX. More of an out and out sports car the 300ZX was a sleek two-door coupe that could be supplied with a number of high performance engines, with the 3.0-litre, twin-turbo V6 found in the later second-gen Z32 cars being the most powerful at just over 300bhp.
It was, and still is, a great looking car but as the new millennium approached the old 300ZX was getting a little long in the tooth. Ending its run in 2000 we would only have to wait two years for its successor – the much anticipated 350Z. Here was another two-seater sports car that took everything that was great about the 300ZX and built upon it to create a really rather excellent coupe. A true Z-Car through and through, what with its long bonnet and fastback roof line, it certainly looked the part and it went like a scalded cat too thanks to 3.5-litre, naturally aspirated V6.
It was a huge hit, both with the car buying public and in the motorsport realm and the car remained in production until 2009. Which is when the harder, better, faster, stronger 370Z took on Nissan's sporty crown. Although similarly styled, the 370Z was pretty much a complete redesign and featured a larger, 330bhp 3.7-litre V6 . But for those that wanted the best, those that craved a bit more bang for their buck, there was the Nismo version.
Being Nissan's Motorsport division, the name Nismo has always been synonymous with performance and the 370Z Nismo does not disappoint. A revised ECU map and a sporty exhaust set up pushes peak output to 350bhp and a six-speed manual gearbox with Nissan's rev matching wizardry takes care of getting all of that juice to the rear wheels. Handling is improved via stiffer springs and sway bars, while bigger wheels with Nismo sport brakes complete the package. Yep, the 370Z Nismo means serious business.
This particular, low mileage 2016 face lift model has been further enhanced by the addition of a performance cold air intake and performance exhaust to help the engine to breathe better. An after market spoiler has also been fitted and the white lettering on the tyres gives a rather motorsport inspired look. The car has been recently serviced and is in excellent condition throughout. Add in the long, advisory-free MOT until September 2026 and you're on to a winner.
