Overview

Want the Porsche badge, but need 4 usable seats and don’t like SUVs? The Panamera has you covered. If you need to think about economy, there’s also an option for that too; introducing the Panamera diesel. 

It was unveiled in 2013 and whilst the words Porsche and diesel don’t often get used in the same sentence, the diesel Panamera went on to be the best-selling variant of the model, with two-thirds of Panameras bought new during the 2015 period being the 3.0 V6 diesel.

This particular example has been in the care of the current owner for around three years, and is finished in the timeless colour combination of white bodywork over a black leather interior - simple, but classy, and well-suited to the Panamera’s smooth lines. 

With a combination of decent performance and great economy, this might just be the most sensible way to cross continents while also providing the driving experience for which Porsche is so rightly renowned.

• Both front seats are in very good condition, showing less-than-expected levels of wear for the age and mileage

• The story is the same in the rear, where both seats remain in great shape with no heavy wear or damage that we can see

• Looking closer, there are some light blemishes on the door cards, the door kick plates and the lower centre console area

• Elsewhere, the high-traffic areas such as the door pulls, steering wheel and shifter show some typical usage marks and there’s a few other marks around the cabin

• The sizeable boot is tidy and clean, though we would note that there is some damage to the aluminum trim at the edge of the boot lock surround

• No reported faults or issues

Exterior

• Smart white exterior in good overall condition, with contrasting black alloy wheels

• There are a few areas of wear around the vehicle, most notably the scuff on the nearside front corner which appears to have pushed the bumper out of alignment, a scratch on the offside rear bumper corner, and a crack to the OSR rear light lens

• Elsewhere, there are a few larger blemishes and scratches, such as on the bonnet nearside edge, bubbling and flaking above the offside side skirt at the rear, and a few larger stone chips on the front end

• Other than the above notes, the remainder of the bodywork looks to be in good shape, with no other impact damage or misaligned panels that we can see

• All four wheels look to be in good condition with no heavy kerb rash

• Michelin Pilot Sport 4 tyres all-round

• Overall, a smart example of the four-seater Porsche which would benefit from a little TLC to bring it back to its best but remains eminently usable in the meantime

Mechanical

• 2,967cc turbocharged V6 diesel engine producing 247bhp and 406lb-ft of torque

• 8-speed Tiptronic automatic gearbox, sending power to the rear wheels

• No modifications from factory specification

• Under the bonnet, there are no signs of any issues or leaks

• No reported faults or issues from the seller, stating that the car drives well and performs as expected

Summary

An ideal cross-continental roadtrip companion, luxurious daily driver or weekend adventure wagon, what the diesel-engined Panamera might lack in outright performance compared to its GTS or Turbo brethren, it makes up for in common sense and practicality, with a quoted figure of 44mpg. It might not be the sexiest figure to quote down the pub, but you can’t deny the appeal - Porsche premium quality without spending 95% of your time at the decidedly un-sexy British petrol station forecourt!
