Overview
M3 - one letter, one number, and a whole host of heritage. For those looking to carry the family in style and with blistering performance, an M-car has long been the de-facto choice for a car that can embarrass most other cars in a game of traffic light GP, yet take two adults and two children (plus their associated luggage) on long journeys in comfort.
Introduced in 2014, the F80-era M3 was the first to feature turbocharging with its S55 engine, and whilst the majority of cars were fitted with the impressive M-DCT gearbox, a handful were options with the six-speed manual, which is exactly what we have on offer here.
Finished in the classic shade of Mineral White which serves to further the now under-the-radar styling of the F80 (especially compared with its successor) this example has been in the care of the current owner since mid-2024, and has been looked after by BMW main dealers from new, and is blissfully devoid of any aftermarket modifications - all of which make this M3 a tantalising proposition…

- The oil leak has now been addressed

-
The seller notes that during his ownership (since Summer 2024) the car has been run on V Power or Momentum fuels, and the previous owner stated the same
-
We’re also told that the car has not been on track in the current ownership, and the previous keeper said the same when selling the car to our vendor
-
BMW airbag recall and software update carried out in 2023 - invoice supplied
-
The latest MOT had an advisory for a damaged windscreen, but this has since been replaced with a Pilkington screen (OE BMW supplier)

We note some light wear to the high-traffic areas such as the shifter, pedals, steering wheel and door card/door pull areas
-
Both front seats are in good order, with some typical wear to the outer bolster on the driver’s side and some mild age-related patination, but nothing out of the ordinary as far as we can see
-
The rear seats look to be in great condition, with some light indentations as to be expected on a car of this age
-
No reported faults or issues to be aware of
Exterior
-
Finished in the classic shade of Mineral White, the paint and bodywork of this F80-generation M3 present in very good order
-
Shadow-line trims
-
Adaptive Xenon headlights
-
Carbon-fibre roof
-
The front end and exposed edges display the usual smattering of stone chips, as we’d expect to see on a performance car of this age and mileage
-
Looking closer, we note some gravel rash-like damage on the boot lid below the offside rear light, the rear BMW emblem is corroding around the edges, a scuff on the lower rear bumper above the nearside exhaust exit, and a few chips in the centre of the carbon roof
-
The front wheels are shod in Michelin PS4S tyres, and the rear wheels are shod in Continental Contisportcontacts
-
The offside rear wheel is kerbed, and the other wheels show a handful of small blemishes in the diamond-cut areas
-
Overall, a smart example of the F80-era M3 that remains unmodified from standard
Mechanical
-
2,979cc turbocharged inline six S55 engine producing 431bhp
-
Six-speed manual gearbox
-
Rear-wheel drive
-
No modifications from factory specification - an increasingly rare sight
-

-
Full main dealer history
-
We’re told that this M3 runs ‘faultlessly’ and that the active exhaust system is in full working order - a must to make the most of that S55 soundtrack
Summary
When was the last time you saw a manual-equipped F80 M3 come up for sale? Chances are it was a while ago, or you had to trawl through a sea of M-DCT examples to find it. Whilst the DCT cars are undoubtedly popular for a reason, there’s something incredibly satisfying about rowing your own gears, and to find a spanish gearbox (yes, that’s a terrible manuel / manual joke) in an F80-era M3 makes it even sweeter.
This example is backed up with a full main dealer history, and has not been modified from factory specification; no remaps, bad pop-and-bang tunes or bodykits here, oh no. This M3 is as standard as the day it came out of the factory - just how we like it. Go on, buy it, please, before we do…
