Overview

You love cars and driving. So it stands to reason that there are times you want to drive on the door handles or like your hair is on fire (in a controlled and legal environment, natch), exploring the outer limits of your car’s handling and ability.

However, the sad fact is that most of the time (in fact, the vast majority of the time) you’ll be schlepping to and from schools, supermarkets, grey industrial estates in Swindon and the occasional garden centre. In this case, the absolute last thing you want is a brutally loud, hard-riding, fire-breathing track special. What you really want is a lovely, well-appointed, superbly comfortable sports cruiser that has enough power and ability to turn the occasional twisty bits and B-road blasts into moments of unfettered joy.

What you want is a BMW M6. And for extra potential joy, you want one with the desirable Competition Pack, preferably finished in a nice bright colour and with a gloriously opulent interior, just to make all that motorway cruising as bearable as possible.

Well look what we have here, if it isn’t the perfect car! Truly, wonders shall never cease. With a stonking great 4.4-litre V8, ably assisted by a brace of turbos, this example’s 567bhp will comfortably push it from a standstill to 62mph in 3.9 seconds and on to 190mph+, should you ever make it across to the Autobahn. Which you really should, because that’s the natural hunting ground for the M6. And it will dispatch all it comes across with the roof down for extra sensory overload, or in spookily relaxed and luxurious serenity with the roof in place.

Sick of reaching your destination late and feeling a bit stiff? Then this is just what the doctor ordered. And with less than 24,000 miles on the clock, that mighty eight-banger is barely run-in too.

The downsides? Erm... Well if you don’t like orange, this may not be the car for you. And if you don’t like the idea of a beautifully presented, twin-turbocharged V8 sports tourer, then this won’t be your bag either. But if you don’t like the idea of that, we can’t help but think you’re probably on the wrong website…

Summary

Big, bold, beautifully equipped and most decidedly orange. This M6 is a mighty, mighty thing, and presented in a truly unique and individual specification that really makes it stand out from the crowd.

With genuinely low mileage, every luxury you could sensibly want from a car and that epically powerful V8 powertrain, there’s much to love here. You could say it’s a genuine bahn-stormer.

Yes, we went there.
