Overview

Hot Hatches are a staple of our religion here at PistonHeads, and the A35 AMG is no exception. Whilst it may have been AMG’s ‘entry level’ vehicle, the A35 packs an impressive punch even in standard form, happily seeing off the likes of the Focus ST and Golf GTI based on performance figures alone.

But this particular hatch is not a standard A35, oh no. This is a Brabus B35-S, meaning that whilst on the surface it may look the same (save for some additional badging) underneath its packing even more power, a slick Brabus valved exhaust and a few other tricks, making this one very capable (and no doubt wonderfully lairy) hot hatch indeed.

Delivered as a standard A35 in 2019 and subsequently converted by Brabus Sandown in 2021 to B35-S spec, you’ll be certain to win plenty of games of pub top-trumps (other card games are available) with this eye-catching example. And while we can't be sure how many Brabus B35-S A Classes there are in the UK, we reckon you'll do well to spot another on the roads - the owner says he is aware of only one other such conversion on these shores.

Blisteringly quick, impressively practical and winning points in the rarity stakes, just don’t buy this B35-S with hope to blend in anywhere…

• Being very particular, we’d note some light scuffs and scratches around the plastic seat base trims and door jamb trims

• The centre console track pad shows some minor scratches from use

• In the rear, the seats look to be in great shape with no obvious staining or damage

• The boot would benefit from a vacuum, but otherwise looks to be free of any heavy wear

Exterior

• Sun Yellow bodywork with full AMG Aero body kit in excellent condition

• The front end shows some small stone chips as expected from a performance vehicle

• The door handle recesses exhibit some light scuffs

• Both front arches are chipped on the rear edges

• Elsewhere, there are a few minor imperfections noted on the black trims and lower side skirt areas, but overall this B35-S presents in very good condition

• All four wheels present well, with a few light blemishes 

• Michelin Pilot Sport 4 tyres all round

• 2025 Date Code tyres on all wheels except the NSF wheel, which is dated 2024

Mechanical

• 2.0-litre turbocharged inline-four engine, producing 305bhp from the factory

• The Brabus B35-S upgrade boosts output to 360bhp and 295 lb ft of torque, with the upgrade carried out and warrantied by Brabus of Sandown, but the Eventuri upgrade is thought to add at least an additional 10bhp

• Seven-speed dual-clutch transmission

• All-wheel drive

• Brabus valved sports exhaust system with Brabus carbon-fibre tips

• Eventuri carbon intake system

Offered for sale in outstanding condition and with an excellent factory specification including the desirable AMG Aero body kit, this is a hot hatch that punches far above its weight, and will no doubt be an absolute hoot to drive.
