Overview

The Mazda MX-5 has always been an absolute hoot to drive and the Japanese firm really did nail the affordable, lightweight, two-seater sports car formula from the get go back in 1989 with the release of the first generation of its seminal offering. Currently enjoying its fourth incarnation, the MX-5 continues to evolve whilst also retaining those characteristics that made it such fun in the first place.

As accomplished as it is, however, there has always been a hankering among the few to squeeze a little more performance out of the plucky roadster. After all, it is arguably the perfect base from which to do so thanks to the well-balanced, chuckable nature of the thing and there are now plenty of options should you wish to tune. From turbo kits to full on race car spec makeovers the world is pretty much your oyster but should you crave the ultimate in Mazda modification then the authority to turn to would have to be BBR GTi.

A leading tuner of MX-5s, BBR GTi has a wealth of race-bred expertise and experience and their acclaimed turbo conversion kits continue to be the go-to for many looking to boost performance and this particular 2010 Mazda MX-5 NC is a prime example.

Benefiting from a BBR GTi Stage Two turbo conversion the car now develops a dyno-proven 297bhp as reported by the vendor, with scope for even more power depending on your chosen level of boost pressure. With all of the necessary supporting modifications, including  BBR manifold, full sports exhaust and intercooler (among many others), this MX-5's suspension and braking systems have also been upgraded making it truly a force to be reckoned with.

The exterior and interior have been tastefully enhanced to match the car's performance and it currently presents in excellent condition across the board. The full spec list can be found below but suffice to say this is one seriously sorted sports car that's perfect for both fast road use and track day dominance. Meticulously maintained and sold with a fresh service and MOT the car is ready to be enjoyed immediately. The car is due to be on display at Japfest at Silverstone in April and the ticket can be passed on should you wish to kick things off in style.
