Overview

The F10-era M5 is well-known for blending explosive performance with incredible long-distance cruising credentials and a factory specification with more toys than an Entertainer store. The F10 was also an interesting juxtaposition of firsts and finals; it was the first turbocharged M5, and was also the final RWD-only M5, a key factor for those looking for the traditional BMW M-car driving experience of plenty of power upfront and a party at the rear. 

The figures were just as impressive as you’d imagine, too; the twin-turbocharged S63 engine put out a shade over 550bhp in standard form, with a quoted 0-62 time of 4.4 seconds, though multiple media outlets have proven this to be pessimistic, with one US outlet managing the sprint in 3.7 seconds! The downside of this reputation, however, is that many F10s have been mechanically modified, meaning factory-spec examples such as this are becoming rarer to find. 

Finished in Singapore Grey, this 2012-registered F10 cost £70,000 new, and has the rare folding rear seats that make this already-practical super saloon an even more attractive proposition. It comes with full history and has a useful update with Apple Carplay. So for those that appreciate practicality just as much as supercar-baiting performance and scarcely-believable agility for all the family, this could be the car for you.
