Overview
Everybody knows the Caterham Seven is geared towards track use. It's common knowledge even for the non-petrol heads among us. You just have to look at a Caterham – any Caterham – to know it means business. That clipping apexes and nailing braking points constitutes its happy place. But these cars can be enjoyed on a more day to day basis too, you just have to pick the right model and the 310S SV, like this 2022 car right here, is one such example.
Still a proper driver's car through and through with those inherently engaging characteristics that make these things so damn exciting to pilot, the S in the name of this particular variant denotes a more road-biased setup. Featuring more forgiving suspension and extra mod cons such as a full leather interior, carpets and a 12V charging socket, to name a few, it represents a far more usable proposition. Not only that but it's also the larger SV model with a wider chassis, meaning extra cockpit space, lower floors on both sides for more head room and increased luggage storage, making it perfect for the taller driver.
Forward motion comes from a 152bhp, 1.6-litre four-cylinder Ford Sigma engine mated to a five-speed manual gearbox, which given that the weight of the car is about the same as a packet of Wotsists means that performance is still very much of the face-melting variety. And it's performance that can be exploited whatever the weather thanks to the inclusion of a full roof as well as a half hood and doors.
Presenting beautifully throughout and reportedly running flawlessly it's a prime representation of one of Caterham's finest that is sadly no longer a part of the line-up. With just one previously registered owner, a shade over 600 miles on the clock and a recent full service and health check by Caterham in November last year this Caterham Seven 310S SV looks to be in rude health and is ready for its next thrilling adventure.

Summary
A highly sought-after model, the 310 is highly favoured for its arguably ideal power-to-weight ratio. More than enough to make every trip an adventure but not so much as to be a complete raving lunatic it's the perfect balance of performance and usability. Make no mistake, this is fast motoring at its finest but with a higher level of comfort than a fully stripped out racing model making it far easier to live with day to day. With such limited use this is practically a new car and seeing as the original 310 is no longer part of the Caterham line-up it makes for an incredibly tempting proposition.
