Overview

Following up after the success of the R32 GT-R was never going to be an easy task, such was the truly legendary status that “Godzilla” had developed over its five-year production run, but Nissan delivered with the R33 GT-R, setting their stall out early with a pre-sales record breaking lap of the  Nürburgring and making their intentions clear from the off. Somewhat underrated in the grand scheme of Skylines, the R33 GT-R is an important model that gained well-deserved recognition thanks in large part to its inclusion in the very first Gran Turismo game on the Sony Playstation which catapulted this now iconic car into the stratosphere.

Introduced in '93 at the Tokyo Motor Show, it featured the same 2.6-litre inline six-cylinder engine as the R32 but this time the twin turbos were ceramic and the car came equipped with beefed up suspension and bigger brakes. But just like its predecessor, it could be tuned to almost mythical levels of performance, with this particular 1995 model being a prime example of what can be achieved with the right bits and bobs.

Professionally modified using parts from revered specialist companies such as HKS, GReddy and Apexi the car now sits at a dyno-tuned 582.7bhp, a massive increase over the factory standard 276. With supporting suspension, gearbox and braking mods to cope with the added performance it looks to be a very well set up R33 GT-R and is reportedly running perfectly.

Presenting beautifully in white with contrasting bronze Work Emotion alloy wheels, the car's bodywork remains largely factory save for a carbon fibre rear spoiler and after market rear lights and the paintwork was treated to a full two-stage correction in September 2025, including the addition of ceramic coating and full front end PPF. It's all very tastefully done and the sympathetically modified interior continues this theme, with the car retaining its original charm.

Summary

Tastefully modified to deliver an impressive level of performance without being overtly shouty about it, this Nissan Skyline R33 GT-R retains a certain level of dignified grace but also possesses the innate ability to snap necks at will, whether it be the driver's or those of passers by. In lovely condition throughout and reportedly running perfectly, if you're after a modified GT-R then this is arguably how these things should be done.
