Overview
The Honda S2000 was the car that proved a manufacturer best known for lawnmowers and sensible hatchbacks could build one of the finest driver's cars of its generation. Launched in 1999 with a 2.0-litre naturally aspirated engine that revved to 9,000rpm, it delivered 240bhp and a top speed of 150 mph from a compact, beautifully balanced roadster chassis. That F20C four-cylinder was, at the time, the most powerful naturally aspirated production engine on a per-litre basis. Peak power arrived at 8,300rpm, which meant you had to commit to every gear, every rev, every corner. It rewarded drivers who understood that the journey to the redline was the whole point.
Over its decade-long production run, Honda steadily refined the S2000 without ever diluting its character. Later UK cars featured a glass rear screen, revised suspension geometry, and from 2008, VSA stability control as standard alongside the Type-S suspension setup with retuned dampers, thicker anti-roll bars, and firmer springs. This vehicle represented Honda's fully developed UK specification: everything the engineers had learned, distilled into the final cars to leave the Suzuka factory. Of the 110,673 S2000s built worldwide, just 7,898 found homes in the UK, and a 2009 car sits right at the end of that production run.
This particular S2000 was first registered on 6 June 2009 and has covered 76,534 miles in the hands of six keepers. The current owner took custody in 2018 and has put roughly 5,000 miles a year on it since, a pace that speaks to genuine enjoyment. The maintenance trail reflects that attitude, with a sequence of specialist Honda shops attending to the car across its recent history. It passed its most recent MOT in May 2026 with a completely clean sheet and 16 MOT passes on record. We think this is a car that has been exercised the way Honda intended, and looked after by people who understand what makes an S2000 tick.

Summary
This S2000 has been properly driven and properly maintained since 2018, covering roughly 5,000 miles a year through specialist hands. It arrives with a clean MOT, a clear maintenance trail, and the kind of honest mileage that tells you the mechanicals have been kept exercised. As one of the very last S2000s registered in the UK, we think it represents the most complete expression of a car that Honda built with unwavering commitment to the driver. If you've been waiting for a usable, sorted example, here it is.
