Overview

Certain ingredients go into the recipe for the perfect Lamborghini. Power, noise, retina-searing colour, traffic-stopping looks and a taste for drama are all prerequisites for anything wearing the shield of the raging bull.

What you may not expect is a surprising amount of practicality, reliability, usability and high levels of fit and finish. Yet this is precisely what you get with the Gallardo, mostly thanks to the fact that this was the first “baby Lambo” created under the watchful eyes of then new owners Audi. So you get all the Italian visual histrionics, aural pizzazz and performance fizz, but with the reassuring clunk of a German engineered door and relatively worry-free driving. It is very much the way things should be done.

With clean yet futuristic styling, a nerve-tingling and bombastic 500bhp V10 powertrain (seriously, you have to experience it to understand, it’s astoundingly addictive) and the security of all-wheel drive, it stormed into the supercar market like the proverbial bull in a china shop. Only with more lurid colours. Little wonder that the Gallardo proved to be far and away the best selling Lamborghini of all time – at least until its successor, the Huracan, took over the mantle.

Don’t make the mistake of thinking it’s all drama and noise though – the Gallardo is a  fabulous driving machine. Immensely capable and genuinely thrilling to drive, it added some delicacy and nuance to Lamborghini’s traditional list of ingredients, and it’s all the better for it.

Presented in stunning Giallo Midas, this example has been very well cared for, benefitting from a comprehensive service record. In fact, the current owner has gone to some lengths to keep this car in top-top condition, having interior and exterior trim refinished, as well as refreshing the wheels, tyres, suspension, brakes and much more. And it can’t have escaped your notice that the car has a manual transmission. The exact number of UK factory manual Gallardo's we cant confirm but it less than 10% of production were specced with three pedals. This is not only a brilliant driver’s car, but it’s rare and collectible too. 

The days of naturally-aspirated V10 supercars truly are numbered, and it’s a certainty that anything with a manual ‘box is only going to get rarer and more difficult to come by. So whatever you do, don’t let this well-kept, desirably specified example pass you by, they really don’t make ‘em like this anymore.

• Overall the leather shows well, with some light creasing the the seats, some rippling to the leather on the door cards and a few missing stitches on the driver’s seat

• Electrically adjustable seats with heating function

• Black carpets and over mats, all of which look to be in good order, with no significant wear or damage

• Electrically operated door mirrors and side windows

• Polished stainless steel gear shifter, with classic H-gate

• Lovely simple and classic sports steering wheel

• Dual zone air conditioning

• Modern Kenwood double DIN in-car entertainment system with touchscreen professionally fitted April 2026

• Fire extinguisher fitted in the rear

• Dark grey Alcantara headlining, which looks to be in very fine fettle, with no damage, staining or sagging apparent

• The internal trim and instrumentation is all in excellent condition – we only noted a little wear commensurate with the vehicle’s age to the seat adjustment controls

• All of the satin and ‘soft touch’ trim in the cabin was professionally refinished in January 2026

• Custom ‘Gallardo’ stainless door plates fitted in May 2026

• Generous “frunk” space is neatly trimmed in dark grey carpet, with tyre puncture repair and tow eye

• The vendor assures us that all of the cabin’s features and functions operate as they should, with no faults or issues reported

Exterior

• Striking ‘Giallo Midas’ paintwork, presented in very good condition for its age, with a healthy lustre and deep shine

• We only noted small chips or scuffs to the corner of the OS door handle, NS door mirror and just above the rear registration plate

• The vendor informs us that there is a 5p sized paint bubble on front corner of the OS wing

• All aluminium bodywork, which looks to be in good order, with no damage we could discern, straight lines and neat, even panel gaps

• All of the lights appear to be clean and clear, with just a small crack to the rear near-side light

• The external trim and badging is in lovely condition, with no damage or significant wear to note.

• The owner had the electronically activated rear wing stripped down and serviced in October 2025

• All of the external plastics were professionally checked and refinished as required in March 2026, including repairing and refinishing the rear diffuser

• The vendor informs us that there is some damage to the inner wing plastics, including some missing 'fins' on the vented parts

• In April 2026 the wiper arms were stripped down and repainted

• The brake calipers were repainted and finished with new decals in July 2026

• Underneath, the car looks to be straight and clean, with no damage or significant marks to the underside that we could discern

• The original 19-inch alloy wheels are fitted, and present in excellent condition, having been refurbished in October 2025 (a full wheel alignment was carried out at the same time)

• A matched set of new Michelin Pilot Sport 4 tyres was fitted in June 2026 (235/35 front and 295/30 rear)

Mechanical

• 4,961cc naturally-aspirated V10

• 6-speed manual transmission, apparently only fitted to fewer than 10% of all UK production Gallardos

• All-wheel drive system

• Factory performance figures: 493bhp, 376lb-ft, 0-62mph in 4.2 seconds and a top speed of 192mph

• The engine bay is aesthetically scruffy and could do with some refinishing, but there are no obvious evidence of leaks or other issues

• Tubi exhaust system

• ABS, power-assisted steering and ESP

• November 2019: new clutch fitted at 48,522 miles

• October 2025:  oil pump housing refurbished, new rear ARB bushes

• December 2025: Oil pump rebuilt with all bearings, seals and O rings

• January 2026: new OEM-spec Varta battery fitted

• March 2026: Larini Club Sport High-Flow 200cel catalysts fitted

• June 2026: air-conditioning regassed

• July 2026: all four calipers refinished, new front discs, rear discs skimmed, new Febi Bilstein pads all round

• We are assured that the car starts, idles and drives just as it should, with no known mechanical issues declared

Summary

What a noise. It’s difficult to explain how all-consuming the V10 in the Gallardo is. You’ll be convinced it’s a living, breathing, vaguely psychotic thing. And it’s wrapped up in some of the prettiest supercar styling of all time – aesthetics that are ageing incredibly well.

This desirable manual example has clearly been driven carefully, maintained regularly and looked after fastidiously. It’s exactly the sort of car you want to buy if you’re looking for a fabulous driving experience, rather than just a garage queen.
