Overview

Standing out as one of the most unhinged high-performance estates ever built, the BMW M5 Touring (E61) was introduced midway through the E60 M5’s production run. BMW took the motorsport mechanics of its flagship sports saloon and wrapped them in a practical estate body. Built almost exclusively for the European market, its limited run of just 1,025 units made it an instant cult classic, and it’s easy to see why!

Under the bonnet lies the car’s defining feature: a naturally aspirated 5.0-litre (S85) V10 engine derived directly from BMW’s Formula 1 programme. This high-revving engine produces 500 horsepower and revs to a screaming 8,250 RPM redline. Channelling that power to the rear wheels via a 7-speed SMG-III single-clutch automated manual transmission, the M5 Touring is capable of achieving 0 to 60 mph in roughly 4.7 seconds and can push past 190 mph without a limiter - supercar performance hidden inside a family estate car.

Aesthetically, the M5 Touring pairs subtle estate styling with aggressive performance cues. It features flared wheel arches, quad exhaust tailpipes, sculpted front air intakes, and signature side vents, which add up to give an aggressive stance and fantastic road presence when compared to a standard 5-Series.

Inside, you’re treated to luxurious comfort with a full leather package, dynamic seat adjustment to hold you tightly, and brushed aluminium trim that gives a modern feel and look, along with other high-end touches such as a head-up display and dual air conditioning, to name just a few.

Coming to market with just over 52,000 miles, this lovely 2007 BMW M5 Touring comes from four years of ownership, during which it's covered just over 1,100 miles. The spec is fantastic; aside from the usual M features, this car includes soft-close doors and a panoramic roof. Along with the excellent service history, the vendor replaced the conrod bearings with ACL Race Series bearings shortly after buying the car as a precaution and replaced the panoramic roof mechanism, giving future owners peace of mind.
