Overview
When BMW unveiled the latest incarnation of its seminal M3 Touring model in 2020, the G81, the engineers in Bavaria thought – and rightly so we might add – that 473bhp was sufficient for the “base” model. For those looking for a little extra grunt, however, there was the Competition variant, and with 503bhp on tap, performance was nothing short of face-melting. An eight-speed Steptronic automatic manual gearbox with its own oil cooler was also fitted, alongside various styling tweaks.
It's a fantastic car, both in terms of outright power and speed as well as the usual build quality and practicalities that a BMW estate brings. There was much rejoicing, but for some it still wasn't enough. Fear not, however, because if you count yourself among these freakish folk for whom the numbers weren't quite high enough then there's the AC Schnitzer G81 – the ultimate evolution of the current M3 Touring.
With 602bhp on tap (that's the same as a Lamborghini Huracan by the way), performance has transcended from melting mere faces to relocating entire body parts. Alongside various other upgrades, including suspension enhancements and aerodynamic improvements, the AC Schnitzer BMW G81 M3 Touring Competition is an estate car that is nothing short of devastating, be it on the road or at the track.
This stunning 2023 BMW M3 Competition xDrive has indeed been given the AC Schnitzer treatment and presents in absolutely stunning condition both inside and out. Having covered less than 24K miles from new it's just about bedded in (it hasn't even had its first MOT yet) and is furnished with the top of the range Ultimate Pack, meaning all the bells, whistles, trimmings and accoutrements one could possibly ask for. A simply amazing machine.

Summary
Alongside having one of the longest names, this must be one of the most performative and capable estate cars in existence. It's a car that can comfortably win a race on Saturday and then take the entire family on holiday to the continent the following Monday. If you can afford it and only need one car for the rest of your life then the AC Schnitzer BMW G81 M3 Touring Competition xDrive may well be it, and this one appears to be about as good as it gets.
