Overview
The Mk4 R32 arrived late in 2002 as the fastest, most focused Golf Volkswagen had built. Under the bonnet sat a 237bhp 3.2-litre narrow-angle VR6, a chain-driven descendant of the much-loved 12-valve unit, sending drive to all four wheels through the Haldex system and a six-speed manual. Lowered suspension, sharp steering and big front brakes with bright blue calipers backed it up, and with only around 500 UK cars sold between 2002 and 2004, it's become one of the most collectable hot Golfs of its era.
This one is a Diamond Black three-door, the configuration enthusiasts chase, and it's been genuinely used and looked after. It presents as a proper, honest R32: the full factory bodykit is present and correct, the deep black paint has real depth to it, and the König half-leather cabin still feels special. It's a lovely looking example that wears its mileage with dignity.
Better still, it's been recommissioned in recent years, and the history file backs it up: there are receipts for a new clutch, a new radiator and fresh brakes, all sitting alongside the Scorpion cat-back exhaust that gives the VR6 its full voice. The vendor tells us the alloys have been refurbished too, with several thousand pounds spent tidying it since 2024.
The result is a first-generation R32 in its most desirable spec that's ready to be driven and enjoyed, not a project waiting for a to-do list.

Summary
This is a Diamond Black three-door Mk4 R32 in its most sought-after spec, with the 237bhp VR6, six-speed manual and Haldex four-wheel drive all present and correct, and a cabin that still feels every inch the range-topper. It's been properly recommissioned in recent years, with receipts on file for the clutch, radiator, brakes and Scorpion exhaust, so you can get in and drive it as the collectable performance Golf it is. One owner from new adds reassurance, but the appeal here is a genuine, well-sorted R32 that's ready to use and enjoy straight away.
