Overview
BMW's F23 2 Series Convertible landed in the UK in 2015, picking up neatly where the 1 Series Convertible left off. Sitting at the top of the range was the M235i, the M Performance flagship with a turbocharged N55 straight-six under the bonnet. It's linear, it's punchy and it's backed by a chassis that communicates precisely, with balanced handling and M Sport suspension as standard.
Many regard the M235i as one of the great sleepers of its generation, and the Convertible adds open-air theatre to the mix. Four seats and a proper fabric roof make it a genuine all-year, all-weather six-cylinder drop-top that'll happily take the kids or the shopping. Roof down on a quiet B-road, with that straight-six singing away and the eight-speed auto shuffling through the ratios, is hard to argue with.
This one has covered just 16,506 miles in 11 years, around 1,500 a year, which is barely run in by straight-six standards. It's finished in black over red leather, a combination that looks as good with the roof up as it does with it stowed. It's a well-specced example too, so whoever wins it won't be left wanting for kit.
In current ownership since 2016, with one former keeper before that, it's spent far more time parked than on the move. The result is a lovely looking M235i with a red cabin that pops every time the fabric roof folds away. Low miles, a cracking colour combination and six cylinders up front make this a barely-used drop-top that'll should make a cracking buy.
