Overview

The second-generation BRZ arrived in 2021, developed once again alongside Toyota and its GR86 sibling, and it stayed true to the original idea. The recipe is pure keen-driver stuff, with a low-mounted boxer engine, rear-wheel drive and a six-speed manual in a compact 2+2 coupe. Its 2.4-litre naturally aspirated flat-four revs to 7,000rpm and makes 232bhp and 184lb ft in Japanese trim.

Add an aluminium roof, bonnet and front wings, and it's no surprise the BRZ is regarded by many as among the purest driver's coupes around. It's a favourite of the tuning crowd, too, and it holds its value well. That's a rare mix, and it's won the BRZ a loyal following among keen drivers.

To mark a decade of BRZ, Subaru Japan launched the 10th Anniversary Limited in 2022. Based on the domestic S grade, it was limited to 200 units for Japan only, with orders taken between 28 July and 30 September 2022. The changes are subtle but telling, with matte black 18-inch wheels, black mirror covers, blue stitching and anniversary embroidery on the door trims.

This one wears WR Blue Pearl, the paint still shows a deep gloss and, at 3,112 miles, it's barely run in. The blue-stitched Ultrasuede and leather cabin presents very well, and its Japanese auction sheet graded it 5 with an A for the interior. A near-new example of an edition that was never offered here, it's a seriously rare sight on UK roads.

Summary

A Japan-only, 200-unit BRZ with 3,112 miles, a grade 5 auction sheet and glossy WR Blue Pearl paint is a rare find in Britain. It's got the anniversary details inside and out, the six-speed manual that suits it so well and an advisory-free MOT that runs to August 2027.

Cars this special are tempting to tuck away, but this one's ready to use. And a BRZ is at its best on a good B-road, so we'd say get it out there.
