THE BIKE SPECIALISTS, TRADING STANDARDS AWARD WINNERS. Here we have for sale our stunning Ariel VH 500 Red Hunter, this extremely rare machine was manufactured in the first year of production and registered on 4th January 1932. Having had only 3 owners from new, the first of which owned the bike for over 70 years, this bike is the ultimate collectors item. Our example has had a lot of tasteful refurbishments throughout its lifetime but ultimately remains in a beautiful original specification. The new line of Ariels, introduced at the end of 1925 and designed by engineering genius Val Page, had been an instant success. Not so much because of technical innovations, but mostly for the very attractive styling: lower saddle position, shortened wheelbase and high saddle tank. With the benefit of the new eye-catching horse emblem and advertising slogan Ariel, the Modern MotorCycle thanks to Victor Mole, within a few years Ariel sales and profits rocketed. Ariels successes continued year after year and the firm became a real trendsetter. The four-valve concept was introduced by Ariel in the 1931 range and was not just a fashionable move, they also provided much more power for customers. The VG 31 De Luxe was introduced as the most expensive single cylinder Ariel at a price of 60! For 1932 the 4 valve engine was made in vertical and sloping forms. Our model features the most desirable VH vertical four-valve engine. Unfortunately, this beautiful machine was one of the last that Ariel would make, they faced considerable financial difficulty in 1932 and despite the attempt of continuing under the private manufacturing of Jack Sangster the company eventually came to an end. This can only be described as a once in a lifetime opportunity to purchase what must be one of the best examples of a classic motorcycle weve ever had for sale.
