In my ownership since 30/09/2007 and from 43000 miles, 8 owners you will be the 9th.
The time has come to sell my much loved TVR 400 which has a TorqueV8 Turbo installation, from Eann Whalley. This was all fitted by Eann & Ian at TorqueRVT in Middlewich 6 ½ Years ago. I believe mine was the 5th car Eann modified and the first Pre-Serpentine version done. Ian has always said it is one the best cars he has seen.
When the Turbo was installed it was the full kit with Intercooler and fully adjustable Megasquirt ECU running coil packs, it has no distributor now which is blanked and a boost gauge. At the same time the turbo was fitted many other new parts were upgraded and fitted to take the extra power, these include a TVR Tuscan Challenge Clutch plate & cover and flywheel with ARP bolts, complete new clutch release system, upgraded half shafts with all new UJ’s which cost nearly £1000.00, New water pump, and ACT stainless manifolds, along with a Works Motorsport 4 pot front Brake kit with vented/slotted discs running EBC Yellow Stuff pads. New engine and gearbox mounts have also been fitted. The car could make much more power with further engine upgrades, but it is frighteningly quick now. The cost of all the above install was some £9000 with all parts and labour etc.
The car also benefits from the following upgrades prior to installing the Turbo:-
Nitron Single Adjustable NTR Sport Shocks all round. These are ride height adjustable as well
Steve Heath Adjustable ARB’s drop links front and rear.
Full Leven interior Kit, - I have the vent surrounds, just never fitted them.

Meta Aguila Alarm System/immobilser upgrade with remote key conversion

The Car benefits from the later rear end with afterburner style lights yet retaining the backlighted number plate, this was due to rear end damage in 2006 which was recorded as nonstructural cat d. Prior to turbo charging it my wife and I toured with it taking in the Lake District, Cotswolds, France twice and gone over the Alps to Lake Como in Italy, all during summer months. Even managing to get two sets of golf clubs and luggage for the holiday in the boot. It has NEVER broken down on me. Since turbocharging it has done very little mileage in real terms as you will see from the MOT history, partly as I have 3 other cars, and my E64 Alpina B6s now does the touring duties, and the wife will not get in it due to the power…… don’t know why as the Alpina has 530hp and 530lb/ft of torque!
The hood is in excellent condition as it was new just before I acquired the car, and I have a full TVR Vinyl hood/roof cover as well. In my ownership it has always been garaged and only ever come out on dry days….. the roof is permanently down, if it has rained whilst out it is only summer rain, the chassis is therefore in excellent condition. I have never tracked this car….. I had an E46 M3 for that. I have the front grille, just removed it for extra cooling.
The car costs me £250 a year to insure on a classic policy with all mods declared. I have a private plate L700UUD (LOUD) on retention worth approx £500, that could be put on the car, I also have two sets of wheels and tyres, std set of Imolas with road rain tyres all basically new, as well as the set that are on it at the moment which have road legal track tyres, Yokohama A048’s on the rear and new Nankang NS2R’s on the front, these cope well with the power. I also have 2 extra 16” rears Imola’s that I was going to put on the front. If the right price is agreed I am happy to include all the above. The car would benefit from a front end respray as there are a number of stone chips on the lower front of the nose.
