VAUXHALL MONARO V8 6.0 VXR 2006
SOLD PENDING PAYMENT.
Selling my 6.0 Monaro VXR which is an early 2006 model, so gets the lower tax figure.
The car has full service history, being serviced by Monkfish until they closed a few years ago. It has subsequently been serviced by a local garage that have knowledge of performance cars. It gets a service and check over at least once a year and as per the suggestion on the car, has always been run on premium unleaded.
I have owned the car for a little over 4 and a half years, so I am simply selling as I would like to move on to something new.
The car has minor modifications in the form of a Wortec Exhaust and an LS7 clutch. The exhaust is not too loud on normal driving but sounds nice when appropriate - this was purchased as the standard exhaust is far too quiet for a car of this nature. The LS7 clutch was installed when a clutch replacement was needed and this was a fairly standard upgrade suggested by Monkfish to all of their customers as it's an improvement in terms of drivability and durability at little extra cost.
It was de-badged by the previous owner on the front and rear but retains the badges on the wheels and the steering wheel. The rear windows were also tinted by the previous owner.
Beyond this, there is nothing in particular to say - it has the usual Monaro VXR quirks, such as having a pretty small boot for its size (as the petrol tank is essentially in the boot) and being very much a fast grand tourer.
If driven around town a lot you'll see anything down to 16mpg whereas I have had it up around 21-22mpg when I was mostly using it for dual carriageway driving. Since owning the car, I have put around 14,000 on the car and through it's lifetime it's seen below average mileage, although this is not unusual for this sort of car.
These cars are a pretty rare sight on the roads (less than 350 in this country to my understanding) and are slowly appreciating in value. I would expect this to be a future classic. Right now, it's definitely the most affordable way to enjoy the American Muscle car feel (albeit that it's an Australian design).
Thanks for checking out my advert. Mileage will go up slightly as I still need to drive it to the shops on occasion etc.. until it's sold. Also, the automated section notes it as having 5 seats - it has 4 seats and I cannot change this. The rear seats are fully moulded so much more comfortable and supportive than a standard bench seat but it does mean there's only 2.
