Description
Up for sale is my Supercharged VX220. It has been dry stored and SORN for the last 18 months only covering 800 miles in the last 3 years. It will have fresh MOT for the buyer.
Its a 2001 car which has the advantage of being one of the lightest production VX cars.
It has been amazingly reliable during my ownership with only an alternator and belt tensioner needing replacement, apart from the usual service items. Which considering it sits for a while then gets used for a weekend or two is remarkable.
The car has a supercharger conversion fitted in 2018 which is a fantastic upgrade and in my opinion how the car should have come out of the factory. It is pretty much a bolt on modification available from GM as a kit for fitting on cars in the USA which use a similar engine making it a similar spec to the factory Charge Ion, sold in the states. Power is around 245hp with the standard pulley, and its plenty fast. You could easily get more from the current tune or by fitting a smaller pulley but I wanted to maintain OE temperatures and factory reliability. Its has OBD Tuner installed on the standard ECU, which means all the OE features of the ecu are retained. It also enables changes to the engine map at any time, which means if any further modifications are added they can be mapped in to maintain correct fuelling or it could be returned to standard.
During the supercharger installation many other items were replaced or reconditioned, including removal of rear subframe to check for corrosion, and a duralac coating applied on assembly. Many minor works were carried out at the same time in addition to the main items listed below:

I still have some original carpet mats and the front V grill.
I also still have some low mileage S2 Exige coil overs if the buyer would prefer, these are available separately. Along with some good condition Turbo alloys, again we could come to an arrangement on these.
It is recorded as Cat D, previous owner reported that it was fibreglass damage front and rear which was repaired around 2012. I had the car inspected after I bought it in 2014 and it all checked out, apart from one of the front wishbones had been incorrectly replaced for an S2 Elise part, which has been replaced. All mounting points are in good condition.
Paint work is good overall but does have general marks and chips, and some blisters on the passenger door. Where it has had the fibreglass repaired previously, there is some crazing on the front clam, under the stone chip film and a bubble on the rear clam next to the tail light. Also the paint on the hardtop has crazing too.
The drivers seat bolster also has the usual wear/split on it from getting in and out.
There is not much service history as the bulk of it I have carried out myself. I am selling as it has had little use for several years and with an expanding family I am using a more practical car most of the time. This is my third car and I had intended to keep it, however circumstances have now changed and with me getting little use to justify it, I think someone else should get to enjoy it and use it as intended.
Priced to sell although sensible offers will be accepted, and I am willing to do a deal with or without the wheels/suspension. For more information or to arrange a viewing please contact me directly. If you want anymore information or to arrange viewing please contact me.
Price is £9600
