Description
CERBERA LS3 6.2 490hp
I love this animal of a car but have to sell it unfortunately. I have owned the car for a year and bought it off the previous owner who purchased the car in 2004 with 18k miles on the clocks. He drove it regularly but experienced many problems with the AJP engine so in the end he decided to have the car converted to the LS3 engine in 2010 at 42k miles.
The conversion was carried out by Topcats Racing, they have a wealth of knowledge and this is a very thorough conversion. To have it done today would be around £25k!!
Highlights are the LS3 6.2 engine, which was new at the time of fitting. It uses a TKO 600 gearbox which is 5 speed, LS7 flywheel and clutch kit. LS7 exhaust manifolds.
The engine produces 490hp and over 450lb/ft of torque. In a car weighing just over 1100kg it is incredible, it pulls hard in any gear at any revs but use all of the revs and all of the gears and it is bonkers.
To try to handle the power it had a set of Gaz Golds fitted and the brakes have been updated. Tyres are Federal 595’s that provide plenty of grip. You really need to be concentrating to get the best from it but it has a well balanced chassis.
The car has been very well looked after during its life, regularly serviced and any work needed was carried out. Last oil change was 3k miles ago. Mileage is now just over 69k.
Since the conversion the rad has been replaced, clutch master and slave replaced, brake master changed. Diff has been rebuild, geo checked, brake lines at rear, headlight reflectors changed and wheels refurbished.
The Chianti Starmist paint is good but there are a few places where the lacquer is clouding and there are some chips on the bonnet. It still looks great though.
Inside is in good condition. There is some wear to the seats and the carpets are fading but it is still presentable. The door cards, rear parcel shelf And rear cubby have been retrimmed in alcantara. The seats and dash are mulberry and flint and it is fitted with chianti wool carpets.
The car has an MOT until March 2022 but the outriggers will need addressing for this. This is a £3k job to have them replaced properly. The rest of the chassis is very good but the outriggers hadn’t been treated which led to the inevitable rot.
It’s a fantastic car and a real adrenaline rush but I prefer my Chimaera as it is better for slow drives out in the countryside. I must be getting old!
Viewings are welcome but test drives aren’t, I’ll take you out in it. I’m located just off junction 27 of the M6 north is Wigan.
