Jaguar E-TYPE 4.2
Hilton & Moss are delighted to bring this beautiful fully restored Jaguar E-Type S1 4.2 2+2 to the market.
This Jaguar E-Type has undergone a full nut and bolt restoration including suitable upgrades in-house at Hilton & Moss at our brand-new purpose-built restoration facility.
This vehicle has received a ‘no expense spared’ bare metal restoration and has been upgraded to a useable and driveable specification making this E-Type the perfect classic to own and enjoy on a regular basis.
This Jaguar E-type left the Coventry factory in September 1966 and was first registered in March 1967 upon sale. Originally sold by KDM Cherrington via distributors Henlys London to Mr JB Lewis this Jaguar was originally painted Cotswold Blue with a Grey interior. FFF414E is an original UK supplied matching numbers vehicle with supporting Jaguar Heritage Trust certificate.
Undergoing a full Hilton and Moss bare metal body restoration this Jaguar has received our top level 5-stage process. Starting by acid dipping the body we ensure all rust, paint, filler and contaminants are completely removed. We then begun the metal work. All carried out in house the repairs and panel beating is completed and our perfect panel gaps are formed. At this stage the chrome work in its copper form is trial fitted with adjustments for the perfect finish. Once completed the car is then acid dipped once again to remove any swarf, fillings and possible contamination from the metal work stage. The shell and panels are then E-coated. This process coats the cars box sections and panels from the inside out and ensures strong long-term protection. The meticulous paint preparation stage then begins. This is where we achieve the flawless mirror finish we are known for before the paint goes on. The car is painted in house once again before being polished to concours perfection.
The mechanical components of this E-Type have been entirely overhauled with a full engine, gearbox and differential rebuild. In this case the engine has been slightly upgraded for a little smoother power to aid driveability. Electronic ignition and a modern lightweight alternator have been fitted to improve reliability. The cooling system has been completely upgraded with a lightweight high-flow aluminium radiator and electric fans. A full stainless steel exhaust system including manifolds has been fitted to improve the gas flow and provide the classic Jaguar growl loved by enthusiasts across the world. The suspension was full stripped and rebuilt with all new bushing. The car was then rebuilt with all new adjustable suspension helping control the weight of the car and improve the driving experience. Bigger brake calipers were also fitted to this E-Type helping the car stop just as well as it goes!
Finished in metallic Sage Green this Jaguar looks incredible from all angles. The interior was entirely re-trimmed in Dark Wine-Red leather with red carpets. The cars stereo has also been upgraded to a brand-new Becker Mexico with all Bluetooth connectivity but an original finish. The speaker system has been discretely upgraded massively improving sound quality. An earlier aluminium centre console trim has been installed giving contrast to the beautiful red leather. A modern immobiliser and alarm and tracker system has been sympathetically fitted for safety.
This E-Type has been restored with no stone left un-turned. Every required fixing was either fully re-furbished or replaced. The total bill was in excess of £150,000, you will not find a finer example.
