Chassis number WF0FXXGBBFJL61877 - One of two 2WD examples supplied new as demonstration vehicles to BRODIE BRITTAIN RACING LTD one of the largest tuning companies in Europe, this particular car was originally registered as 290KAB the initials of the company's Founder Member and Technical Director Ken Brittain, a race engineer specialising in chassis and engine tuning and design, guru on Forced Induction Techniques and the pioneering of "Chipping". Formerly the Manager of the Mitsubishi Works Racing Team during the 1980's after which he directed his efforts to the Ford Cosworth and other Turbocharged production vehicles. He was responsible for developing the now famous Mazda MX5 Turbo which was marketed as an official Mazda model. This example spent the first six years of its life in the hands of BBR Ltd during which time it appears to have covered around 3,000 miles and as a product demonstration vehicle was dramatically upgraded to produce in the region of 400BHP. What we understand some of these upgrades included were a 200 4X4 block, T34 Turbo, larger Intercooler, increase Turbo boost, 3 bar Map Sensor, fast road camshafts, quick shift close ratio gearbox, stiffened and lowered suspension, the fitting of a 4X4 Cosworth bonnet to specifically lower the engines running temperature, and grey injectors which were changed to greens when the car was detuned to approximately 340BHP prior to its disposal by BBR Ltd. During 1999 the car appears on an Auction listing now with 9,100 miles recorded and is described as being "one of the fastest road going Cosworth's there is by using race technology". From 2004 to 2014 we are told that the car was stored by its owners in temperature controlled facilities and seldom used, with one previous owner stating at approximately 14,000 miles the car was given an Engine rebuild with "basically everything new apart from the crank, rods and Cams" and at around 18,000 miles the car has its turbo rebuilt and was live mapped to 330 pushing 33psi of boost by Castle Engineering. The car has now covered a warranted 36,791 miles from new and is presented with an extensive amount invoices, receipts and previous MOT test certificates contained within the history file but no service book, along with an MOT test certificate until 2023. The car still retains it original Ford Radio and Ford Amp although the speakers have been upgraded to Kenwood ones. The car will retain the cherished registration HSU932 it now carries as this is the number that is etched on the glass and as such is part of the cars history. As to this cars sister car little is known of its whereabouts some say it was written off and some say that it was specifically commissioned for the Constitutional Monarch of Dubai, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.
