Exterior:
The bodywork presents well and is believed to retain its original panels. Paintwork is believed to be largely original with no accident damage or filler. The Basalt Black paint is in good condition considering the age and mileage. There are some stone chips on the front bonnet and bumper. Small scuffs are also visible on the offside rear bumper sections.
A previous owner undertook one track-day in the vehicle in 2018, with a minor excursion into a gravel-trap run off area, resulting in gravel rash on the front wing and driver’s door – Please see included photos.
The car is currently fitted with the Porsche 997 Cup splitter – which sits about 10mm lower than the standard splitter. Due to the nature of the additional depth, it has sustained road rash but I shall include a brand new cup splitter to the new owner which I can fit prior to collection should they wish.
My personal enjoyment with the car has come from the fact it is in a perfectly presentable and usable, daily driveable condition, without fear of minor cosmetic imperfections.
Interior:
Featuring the Clubsport Package from factory, the car comes with the fixed back Carrera GT carbon bucket seats, clad in Nomex. The drivers lower bolster has some wear exposing the foam padding beneath, to mitigate further wear a custom protector pad has been fitted. In the rear a black half cage is fitted for additional rigidity and safety. Standard yellow belts are fitted and Schroth harnesses could easily be refitted to the car to complete the Clubsport package.
Alcantara touchpoints including the steering wheel, gear knob and handbrake present well with low signs of wear. Leather upon the dash and partial door cards is in very good condition with no signs of wear either.
Switch gear on the PCM and temperature controls is in very good condition with no signs of the wear on the temperature controls found on most 997’s. The PCM is fully functional including GPS, with the screen showing no sign of age or wear. All dials on the dash present well with no visible damage.
Overall, the interior presents like a car that’s done 1/3 of the mileage whilst the Clubsport package completes the “event” of driving.
Engine & Transmission:
The GT3 has been used as intended and has been “over serviced” based on the normal 2-year servicing schedule. With the majority of its mileage amassed by its second owner between 2011-2017 to commute across Europe for business. The car has been regularly looked after by Fearnsport with a documented paper trail. It’s last visit in August 2021 included a minor service, gearbox oil, a new front centre radiator, exhaust actuator and compression test, resulting in less than 2% across all 6 cylinders. A float check on the crank was also performed to show none.
During my ownership I elected to have all 6 coolant lines pinned, to prevent a loss of coolant due to a known glue issue present on Mezger engine cars – This is a recommended fix by Sharkwerks and provides peace of mind.
A Sharkwerks Bypass Exhaust is fitted, to let the Mezger sing and further enhance the driving experience. A set of silenced exhaust tips are included, however please note that it is unlikely the car will meet requirements for a track day with a limit of under 102/105db.
There are no leaks, misting or residue to be found on the underside and it is entirely bone dry.
The car has a clean rev-range report with no over revs in any range.
Suspension, Wheels, Tyres and Brakes:
The PASM Bilstein suspension was overhauled by Bilstein and Center Gravity in 2019, including new rear springs. The cars ride is firm and tight without any crashing or creaks with a fast road geo setup.
Michelin Pilot Sport 4s are fitted all round.
235/35/19 – Front Right: Outer 5, Middle 6, Inner 5. Front Left: Outer 6, Middle 6, Inner 5.
305/30/19 – Rear Right: Outer 6.5, Middle 6, Inner 6. Rear Left: Outer 6, Middle 6.5, Inner 5.5.
The wheels were recently refinished in their original Porsche silver and present “as new” with no cosmetic imperfections, retaining their high shine.
The PCCBs - Porsche Ceramic Composite Brakes – are also in fine health, believed to be original they stand up to close visual inspection with no chips or damage. With the majority of the mileage being undertaken on the motorway the discs really are in very good shape. Another benefit of the PCCB is the lack of brake dust, helping to keep the silver wheels clean.
Front Pads: 35% worn
Front Discs: 34.48mm – wear limit 33.9mm
Rear Pads: 45% worn
Rear Discs: 28.2mm – wear limit 27.2mm
Dry Ice Cleaning:
The car was extensively (15+ hours) dry ice cleaned in March 2021 by myself to act as a demonstrator vehicle for the process. Removal of all undertrays and arch liners was performed to access all areas of the chassis to ensure a thorough and detailed clean to return the underside to a clean and protectable surface. The underside already presented well having been garaged through the majority of its life but this took the vehicle to the next level. Cleaning back road grime and old factory wax we extensively re-protected the complete underside with Bilt Hamber Dynax UC to ensure a well-protected layer of coverage for future mileage and all-weather usage.
Overall a well maintained and used GT3, with a raft of service history and preventative maintenance performed. A car designed to be enjoyed without the threat of mileage induced deprecation. It does have its own Instagram account – MoonMilesGT3 which the new owner is welcome to continuing should they so wish.
Genuine reason for sale. Any inspection Welcome - Mileage will increase slightly due to usage.
Additional photo's will be added shortly of the interior and exterior, sorry for the limited shots currently uploaded. Additionally - Sorry for the poor formatting with double spacing - PH fault!
