Unveiled at the 2013 New York Auto Show, the Z/28 is a full track-focused, high-performance version of the Camaro SS, which receives a large front splitter, widened and flared wheel arches, extended rear spoiler and more aggressive rear diffuser. Fitted with the 7.0L LS7 V8 that was co-developed with Corvette racing, the Z/28 shaves 4 seconds off the ZL1 round the Nürburgring. Being track focused, weight saving has been employed. This includes removal of interior sound deadening, tyre inflation kit, HID lamps, thinner rear window glass and a lighter battery. The only two options available from the factory was air conditioning and radio, both of which this particular example has been specified with. In a bid to create a muscle car that feels comfortable and capable on track, Chevrolet have designed a car with seriously aggressive looks and a presence that is unmistakably and brazenly American. Even with its large dimensions, it deals with UK roads effortlessly.
