Ford Ka 1.3 built to EnduroKA 2021 specification

After three incredible years competing in EnduroKA, it’s time for us to move onto pastures new. This 2006 car was a fresh build for the 2021 season – we hunted for months to find the best example we could, until we found this gem with just 14k miles.

Even low mileage cars can be badly affected by rust, but this is a very solid car with only 16k miles (check the MOT history to see for yourself – no fails and only a single advisory in 15 years). This was an air-con model which has since had the air-con removed, which is the car of choice for its gear ratios.

It made 72.0bhp on the rollers at Brands Hatch so also has one of the strongest engines on the grid. This is a podium finishing car with more than £5k worth of parts. This includes:

Safety devices roll cage (2019) – fitted with new base plates from our last car + wide angle rear view mirror

Control suspension – Gaz dampers and springs (2021)

Control Powerflex bush set (2021) with new front lower wishbones at the start of this year

Control Goodridge braided brake lines + Mintex M1144 front brake pads

Control Compomotive alloy wheels x8 (two sets) all fitted with the control Toyo R888R tyres with varying amounts of wear

Wheel stud and nut kit

Motamec GP1 race seat (dated until 2024) + side mounts + adjustable runner

Motamec harness (dated until 2024)

Motamec steering wheel + MOMO boss + quick-release boss

Novec fire extinguisher system with Lifeline Zero 360 2.25kg extinguisher

Rain light + front spotlights

Tuff jugs x2

To prepare the car for the 2022 season, you will need to:

Have the Gaz suspension serviced by Gaz

Get the fire extinguisher serviced

Fit a window net – mandatory for 2022

Buy a data logger + camera

Communications equipment isn’t compulsory, but we thoroughly recommend it

Naturally being a race car, it has its share of bumps and grazes. The car will benefit from:

A new windscreen (circa £130)

There is a small amount of play in the steering rack

There is a dent in the NS rear quarter if you want to have this seen to

General scuffs and grazes – you may want to replace the bumpers

A fresh livery for your team!

We’ll be very sad to see it go, but hope it can go to a good team that can get it back on the podium and do us proud. The car is road legal and has an MOT until 11/22 – try and find another Ka with an MOT history as clean as this one!
