It is supplied with the original Ducati handbook, workshop manual, service book showing 5 stamps the last of which was a full valve/belt service at 8896 miles. When the last owner purchased the bike he took it to Pro Twins to go through it front to back. Their invoice is included and they took some photos while they had the cams out to inspect the rockers and do the shims. The bike benefits from having the Termignoni exhaust system fitted and is supplied with the original exhaust too and original cover. The bike has covered just 9,873miles from new and is in exceptional condition. The machine will be supplied having had a full belt service and 12 months independent MOT prior to sale. The 996SPS suffix stood for �Sport Production Special�. The engine was the same as the one used in the 916SPS but the weight was cut down considerably. The 996SPS produced around 124 bhp, more than the standard 996. The special SPS engine was much stronger than anything that Ducati had produced for the track. To ensure a distance was held between the standard 996 and the 996SPS Ducati designed a much higher specification chassis. The wheels were a five spoke design but were lighter than the standard three spoke design and in 1999 the suspension was upgraded to �hlins front and rear.
