1974 Lotus Elite S1 502

This car was fully re built by a retired engineer over a number of years and was finished in 2014, it was stripped to a bare chassis and re built from the ground up, re built engine, gearbox, rear axle and diff, suspension, fully re trimmed, re painted, a full nut and bolt rebuild, we have photos of all the work carried out.

This is very rare that a re build of this quality is done to an Elite for the simple reason of the cost involved, it costs as much to restore one of these as it does to restore an Esprit which are worth much more when completed.

The interior is in exceptional condition, painstakingly restored to factory original spec, the best i have ever seen in an Elite, the headlining alone was over £1k, fantastic paintwork throughout, only 30,000 miles, many thousands spent'

All the electrics work fine, it starts and runs as you would expect and is a joy to drive, only around 4,000 miles completed since the re build, the majority of these were on a trip to classic Le-Mans in 2018

This car was sold new through Tollgate Engineering of Rye in Sussex, to its first owner which was Tate and Lyle LTD, finished in its original very 70's colour scheme of Siberian Sable with champagne interior.
