PORSCHE 911 (996) GT3 COMFORT SPEC 2004

Here’s a treat. It’s a 2004 Porsche 996.2 GT3 with Comfort specification. It is finished in gleaming Basalt Black Metallic, which has been ceramic coated.

The interior is also black with very cool, retro-style houndstooth fabric seat inserts (the car also comes with its original black inserts). Being Comfort specification, the cockpit features Sports seats, climate control and a CDR23 radio/CD player. There are also stainless door sills and aluminium-look dials.

The Porsche has a well-documented service history, showing that it has been well maintained. The rear brake discs and pads are new, while the fronts were recently changed. The limited-slip differential has been rebuilt. The suspension has been upgraded with Öhlins Road & Track dampers and new adjustable coffin arms, all round, before being professionally set up at Centre Gravity.

It is believed that just 247 996.2 GT3s were produced in right-hand drive, UK-specification form. The GT3 is powered by the legendary, race-derived Mezger flat-six 3.6-litre engine, which produces 381bhp and drives the rear wheels. Combined with superb handling and steering, the GT3 is huge fun on road or track, and is very much a modern classic.
