PORSCHE 911 (996) CARRERA 2 with Aero Kit - **Truly 'sorted' example**
The time has come time for me to part with my lovely 996.1 C2 Aero-kit car. I am selling due to other personal financial commitments (house works) but feel the time is right for me to sell. This is my 4th 911 and 5th Porsche over 17 years so hopefully that’ll show I’m a complete enthusiast.
I got in to this car after owning a 996 Turbo which although I did enjoy felt I never really gelled with the Turbo power delivery and realised I preferred the noise and feel of an NA 911. That’s when I realised I wanted to try and obtain the best early 996 C2 aero I could find.
The car I ended up buying was a very well known 911uk forum car that’d had an absolute fortune spent on it (both in money and time) to get it to standard it’s at today in terms of condition, the way it looks and the way it drives.
For anyone familiar with the 911uk forum, will recognise this car as Marky911’s C2 aero that he worked on and improved over 2-3 years and a very comprehensive build thread. If you search on the forum (Search : “Marky's 996 ownership thread”), you’ll find the build thread which details everything that was done on the car in his ownership.
You’ll also find a few pages on the car since I purchased if you search for my thread (Search : “Adamw’s 996 C2 aero ownership thread”). I have lovingly cherished the car for the last 3 years and there has been absolutely no expense spared in maintaining the cars truly mint condition.
I’ve tried to cover as much relevant detail as I can recall in the add below, however there is so much to list with this car so will probably miss something.

High-level summary of maintenance history & restoration / refurbishment since 2017 (through Mark’s & my ownership)
The car has an extensive service history, and far too much to try and itemise all here, however wanted to mention this and the fact that the car is on its 2nd Service history book with an accompanying x2 full ring binders of invoices, receipts and service bills dating back to when the car was new.
I have however tried to itemise the more recent things the cars had since it’s big ‘over-haul’ started back in 2017 (Mark’s ownership) through to 2019 (my ownership) & then to present day, to give a flavour for the cars condition today.
One this just to call out is that the car had a replacement engine fitted in 2009 after an IMS failure. At the time the car had 55k miles on the clock and the replacement engine had covered 42k miles, so today the engine has only covered circa 70k miles. The engine was out of a car known well to the repairing Porsche specialist (Geo. Morrison of Glasgow) and is an identical early spec engine with “X” model year denoting 1999, the same as the cars original. This is all documented in the history file.

Summary:
Ok then so what does all that equate to…. I’d wager it’s one of the best 996s in the country.
The car drives stupendously well. The damping from the KWs is brilliant. Super tight but not crashy at all. It handles like it’s on rails but doesn’t fidget and tramline.
The engine pulls like a train. These m96 motors punch way above their weight when you glance over the 300bhp power figure when you consider the 996.1 C2 is still one of the lightest water-cooled 911’s manufactured (to-date).
It starts on the button, idles smoothly and is as happy pootling through town as it is being hustled down your favourite b-road.
The brakes are superb as is everything else on the car. The bucket seats grip you and key you into the road, and coupled with the Cup wheel, the feedback you get from this car is unreal.
Lastly the general condition of the car is outstanding. The full cosmetic overhaul it’s had (respray, wheels & interior refresh) leaves it verging on what I’d describe as ‘mint’.
Nothing in this price bracket offers what a sorted 996 C2 does and there aren’t many as sorted as this one!
I think that is all the info I have.
If you do have any further questions then please free to call or email me & I'll be happy to answer any questions.
