Description
Price is firm, I have stated the issues in the description so please don’t assume you can knock me down on price using the issues I’ve stated. Car is very reasonably priced.
I’m reluctantly selling my lovely V8S as I have realised that I will not have sufficient funds to restore the car and continue to do track days.
The car is a 1992 V8S in Cooper Green with Doeskin interior. Mileage 88,250
I MOT’d the car last week so it has a full MOT
This week it will have. Oil and filter service and the coolant replaced.
2x new tyres fitted.
It has a roll over bar fitted and driver harness along with a regular seatbelt.
The car has a huge history file with stamps in the book plus supporting invoices.
Since the 2009 MOT at 64k miles it has had the following.
Gaz Gold coil overs
Stepper motor replaced
Brake servo and master cylinder replaced
2010 MOT 71k miles
Stainless replacement exhaust
New headlights
Fuel pump replaced
2011 MOT 77.7 miles
New stainless exhaust manifold
Clutch master cylinder
Rear shocks overhauled
2012 MOT 81.7k miles
Recon radiator
Recon steering rack
Rear discs and pads
Throttle cable
Car not used often and then in 2015 an oil service was carried out at 86,669 miles. Shortly after the car failed its MOT due to corrosion on the o/s rear trailing arm having corrosion and the outriggers also having corrosion. The car was then laid up indoors until I bought it last year.
I had grand plans of completing all of the outstanding jobs and enjoying it as intended.
I went through the car and repaired the brakes as the calipers were sticky, replaced the master cylinder and fluid. I also sent the front Gaz Gold shocks away for a service which has improved the handling.
I have gone through the electrics and everything works as intended.
I have rubbed down parts of the chassis that were showing corrosion, the main chassis looks to be in great condition it is only the rear trailing arm and outriggers that need attention. They have been patch repaired as a temporary measure but need replacing for peace of mind.
The bodywork is in great condition, the Cooper green paint is generally very good with only a few scratches and stone chips letting the side down.
The soft top and targa top are in good condition, the rear screen has no cracks but isn’t crystal clear.
The interior is fair, I removed some of the carpets as there was water leaking in. I intended to replace the carpets but only after I was certain that I had cured the leak. The seats are in good condition with no tears.
The dash veneer needs fixing, it has the usual flaking. All of the gauges work as intended.
The electric windows work but I like to assist them as they are a little slow.
The car is incredible to drive, as we all know the sound is the defining characteristic. It is very nimble and feels quite different to the wedges and chimaera.
I have ordered new gear link bushes as the old ones have perished. The clutch feels great even though a previous invoice says that it slipped. I have not felt anything wrong at all, the previous owner said that it slipped at high revs. I can only imagine there was some sort of contamination that has cleared because is has behaved impeccably for me.
The wheels were previously refurbed but water has crept under the lacquer so there is some oxidisation.
This is a very well looked after car but it is not immaculate. It does need work but can be enjoyed as it is and improved over time.
This car is no longer available for purchase.
