2022 Alfa Romeo Giulia GTAm

The Giulia GTA was Alfa Romeo's love letter to itself celebrating its 110th year. This car wasonly possible with the visionary new CEO, Jean- Philippe Imparato, signing off this specialproject which was limited to 500 units worldwide. Just 30 cars were allocated to the UK.

Starting with a regular Quadrifoglio the 'skunkworks team' transformed the car by removingweight, increasing power, widening the track, tuning the steering, developing thesuspension, prating the brakes and adding an F1 inspired downforce package.

The result is a car that can be driven comfortably to the track and then transforms itself intoa track weapon when race mode is dialled in. It bears little resemblance to the regularQuadrifoglio. Think 911 Carrera vs 911 GT3 RS.

Alfa developed the car jointly with Sauber, their Formula 1 partners. Sauber's expertise wasfocused on parts with the highest aerodynamic impact, such as the new front bumper andactive front splitter, which can be extended for use on the track by up to 40mm on theGAm, the side skirts, the diffuser, the GTA's spoiler and the GAm's aerowing, adjustableto four positions. Antonio Giovinazzi and Kimi Räikkönen, played an active role in thedevelopment, taking part in track testing sessions, during which they provided invaluableteedback to the Alta Romeo engineers, In particular in relation to the car's aerodynamicbertormance and handing

Features also include 20-inch centre lock forged alloys, an Akrapovic titanium exhaust,Brembo carbon ceramic brakes. Ighter sorings. Lexan side and rear windows, a thinnerwindscreen. wider tront and rear track. carbon bucket seats and Sabelt b point harnessesThe reworked engine producing 533bhp, thanks to redesigned conrods, two additionalpiston oil jets, a new oil cooler and a modified operating range for the turbo.The car was available in 2 options, the 'standard' GTA and the even more bonkers GTAm.The m standing for 'modifiacta' which saw the rear seats thrown out and added a roll cage,Sabelt harnesses, carbon racing seats and the boot mounted aerowing. All this resulted in100kg of weight loss, 300% increase in downforce and a lap time that's almost five secondsquicker around the Nardo test track than a regular Quadrifoglio.

The car we are presenting today is one of just 19 GTAm supplied to the UK. (11 of the 30 UKcars were GTAs) Presented in Eta Red this is one of the last cars registered late 2022. It hascovered 110 miles and is in as new condition.

For those of us lucky enough to drive one of these cars we understand why many in thepress have described this car as the one that Ferrari would build if they made a four doorsaloon. Some quotes from the motoring press:
