This is a rare car on these shores .. A lovely, unmolested 1970 Oldsmobile 442 Convertible 455Ci .

1970 was the pinnacle of performance from Oldsmobile. In order to keep up in the horsepower arms-race, General Motors dropped the cap on engine size in 1970, and Oldsmobile responded by making the Olds 455 V8 the standard 4-4-2 engine. Output was 365 hp (272 kW) and 500 lb?ft , making this year very collectable.

This is a matching numbers collector grade car which was subject to a light refresh over 30 years ago, when the last owner purchased the car, to form part of an impressive portfolio . Its still in excellent order today..

The body and chrome are still excellent throughout. The underside is clean, rust free and has never been welded.

The interior is superb throughout and the power hood motor has been rebuilt and works well .

Mechanically the car is all original drive train and benefits from a W27 LSD. It starts runs and drives well. All the original engine ancilleries are in place including the ram air intake. The gearbox shifts smoothly .

We have just gone through the brakes , fitting a new master cylinder and rear cylinders and shoes.

This is a lovely, treasured, honest, low owner example .. You'e unlikely to find another for sale in the UK like this .
