It is ultra reliable, tough and drives and rides far better than most campers costing many times more. Once landed in the UK the cars are driven and given the same treatment our standard Elgrand package includes. The involves checking all systems are operational, a full service, under body coated with underseal, fitting a MPH speedometer, the troublesome rear catalytic converters are de-cored, a fog light fitted which is integrated in the rear lights for aesthetics. We can also fit as an optional extra cruise control. In developing the camper we have tried to maximise space, make the vehicle cosy, warm (or cold when exploring hotter climates) and comfortable. To achieve this clever lighting and good use of colour and fabric as well as top quality materials are used. The whole of the headlining is upholstered, the front seats match the rest of the trim and even the wood capping in the cabin is colour coded to blend in. This attention to detail helps VP Diamond be an outstanding vehicle in a competitive marketplace. Practicality is a major factor in making life on the road enjoyable; therefore, Tambour doors are fitted to most of the units as these provide easy access in smaller spaces. The passenger seat revolves so that it is utilised both when the vehicle is moving and when set up to camp, and our cupboards are designed and manufactured in house using high quality 15mm lightweight plywood furniture board enabling us to achieve a very good fit which keeps the camper quiet on the road.. The cars air conditioning keeps the car cool in warmer climates and a rear heater is fitted to heat the camper. An easy clean, non slip floor is fitted to the living area, which is illuminated by 5 soft glow efficient LED down lighters. There is also a led strip light on the underside of the worktop. The VP Diamond has privacy glass and curtains both upstairs and down. The rock n roll bed is M1 crash tested for safety has seat belts fitted for rear passengers giving the car 4 seat usability, and every available space is utilized for maximum storage. An optional toilet is available. We use a top quality Dometic CRX 50 fridge unit with removable freezer compartment and a digital thermostat, and the combination sink/hob is a Dometic 9222 (or equivlent). The electrics are controlled by a Sargent electrical panel which shows the leisure battery's current state, and the vehicle has an electric hook up. The VP-Diamond has 2 X 3 pin plug sockets. Heating is supplied as standard by a ceramic electric that is thermostatically controlled. The unit can heat a much bigger cabin. Gas is held in a metal safety cabinet. The passenger side rear door is electric and can be opened with the cars remote control which is both useful and looks cool! The VP Diamond has a number of USB charging ports, some for “on the go” others for “camped”. Similarly, the car has a media pack that has a Bluetooth link to your music on your phone while driving.
