BMW built the famous M635CSI from 1983 – 1989. It was built on the E24 platform, which was BMWs grand tourer coupe for 13 years, replacing the E9. The M version was BMWs second true M car, after the M1, and featured their famous M88 straight six engine from the M1. Just 522 right hand drive examples were ever built.

This example was built in 1985 and delivered new on the 17th January 1986 by BMW main dealer MLG of Chiswick to Jardine Thompson Graham Ltd. Finished in Polaris Metallic Silver over Siam Grey Leather, the following options were specified: Limited slip differential, Recaro sports seats, Buffalo leather, air conditioning, electric sunroof, electric windows, electric mirrors, central locking, front and rear fog lights, on board computer, tinted windscreen glass.

Since then, the car has benefited from a few additional upgrades, including larger front brakes, 17″ BBS alloy wheels, Blaupunkt Bremen DAB radio and electric aerial.

The car has a full and detailed service history, and exceptionally low mileage of 68,639 – backed up with a file of service documents, receipts, old M.O.Ts and two stamped up books. The car has been serviced by main BMW dealers up to 51,000 miles, and by specialists since then. We have known the car and maintained it since 2016.

The car was subject to a full glass out respray in 2015, and the body and paint still present beautifully.

In March of 2021, we carried out a light recommissioning of the underside, cleaning and reprotecting the floors, sills, arches and components.

The interior is trimmed in the optional and very rare Siam Grey Buffalo hide, which is an extremely hard wearing leather, and is in great condition with lovely patina, no excessive wear, and intact bolsters. This Buffalo leather which was an expensive option is extended to the front and rear doorcards, which are also in excellent condition, as are all the grey carpets with brand new high quality overmats. All electrics work perfectly.

The car is fitted with correct optional 17 inch cross spoke split rim BBS alloy wheels, in excellent condition, with new Dunlop tyres fitted in 2023. The front brakes were also recommissioned at the same time.

This fabulous machine is ready to be enjoyed, with a clean vehicle health check and oil service as recently as March 2024.
