It’s a colour combination that suits the car properly, understated but still distinctive, and very much in keeping with the original Mini. Each car begins as a standard Mini and is stripped back to a bare shell before being rebuilt throughout. The process takes over 1,000 hours, with extensive work carried out to improve panel fit, paint finish and overall build quality. Sound insulation is significantly increased, and the result is a car that feels far more solid and refined than a standard example, without losing its simplicity. Inside, the cabin has been completely retrimmed in leather and kept close to the original design. The use of machined aluminium for the switchgear adds a more substantial feel, while the layout remains familiar. Modern additions such as air conditioning, upgraded audio and Apple CarPlay are integrated cleanly and don’t detract from the overall look of the interior. Mechanically, the A-Series engine has been rebuilt and uprated to deliver improved performance, while retaining the lightweight, direct nature that defines the Mini. Alongside improvements to steering, braking and general drivability, it’s a noticeably more resolved car to use, particularly over longer distances. This example has covered just 950 miles from new and presents accordingly.
