Description
Shadow Blue VW Polo GTi FSH. 3dr 1 owner, rare.
I'm regrettably selling my GTI, Only reason for sale is I've bought a Toyota Yaris GR & i only have room in the garage for one hot hatch
I ordered this car new from Pulmans VW in 2013. I picked all the optional extras bar sunroof. I waited for the newer facelift version which came with diamond cut Monza wheels, but more importantly the newer CTHE engine as the older 1.4tsi engines had oil burning issues (Be weary of the CAVE engine if you are looking at these cars). This engine is solid.
The 1.4tsi engine is incredible, Twincharged = turbo charged and supercharged. I get 40+mpg on long runs and cheap to insure (costs me about £300 per year)
This car has been treated incredibly well and kept in a garage all it's life & driven mechanically minded. It's only ever had Shell V power or 99 octane fuel. There has been no expense spared on maintenance.
Ive just had brakes cleaned stripped, calipers painted & BRAND NEW well reviewed Nexen tyres fitted which cost a lot so it's perfect for the new owner.
I use the car mostly in summer, I have a Caddy maxi van that I use for the day to day mundane and winter journeys. I'm an enthusiast and have had other models of Polo gti's I've been pedantic about previously (see photos).
It's just hit 70k miles - This mileage will go up as I'm still using it once or twice a week.
Factory Options (cost over £5000)
-Bi-Xenon headlights with LED day running lights
-Climatronic air conditioning
-Convenience Pack - Polo (parking sensors, cruise control)
-Metallic paint (shadow blue)
-Multi-function steering wheel including paddle shift
-RCD 510 touch screen radio/dash mounted 6 cd/mp3 auto-changer + 6 speakers + aux-in
-Winter pack
There are a few tasteful and expensive modifications included with the sale (mostly OEM+), The VWR items (Volkswagen Racing) were available in the brouchure when buying from dealership.
-H&R sport springs - an original spring snapped a few years back so decided to replace with the H&R VWR ones, it sits much better & really sticks to the road. Cost well over £200
-APR Stage 1 remap. I did a lot of research into the best map and this was the one. The VW Polo R WRC ltd edition had the same ecu map, so if VW are happy to use it, so am I. This 1.4tsi Twin charged engine can easily handle the extra power. You can really feel it. It's probably 220+bhp but never rolling roaded it. This map can be turned off, I have all the instructions & invoice. £400
-VWR air intake. Helps the car breathe and make the car sound a little better, but by no means Loud . £380
-VW Bluetooth control Module so you can make / take calls through head unit and steering wheel and stream Spotify with all the track info. £200
-VW OEM Helix uprated soundsytem with amplifier. These were an optional extra for the mk7 golf and very hard to get hold of. I imported it from a German VW dealer. Music sounds incredible in the car - £500+
-Heko Wind deflectors
The DSG gearbox is perfect. It has flappy paddles like a rally car. I had mechatronic unit replaced under warranty after a couple of years ownership & it's been trouble free ever since
Water pump replaced at around 62,000 miles.
Recent rear pads & discs
The shadow blue paint is lovely and polishes up incredible as you can see in the photos. It is very rare, I haven't seen any others this colour for sale.
I have all the original invoice and all the service history & every receipt & invoice in well organised folders. It's never missed an oil change even when I've done only a couple thousand miles a year. The first 3 services were done at VW, but since then I've taken it to my friend who owns a Bosch service centre who does everything it needs every service using OEM parts.
I have the APR remap instructions and invoices & Helix Sound system instructions
Services as follows:
9,504 - VW Dealer
18,824 - VW Dealer
29,157 - VW Dealer
38,384 - Bosch service centre
47,771 - Bosch service centre
51,212 - Bosch service centre
58,237 - Bosch service centre
60,936 - Bosch service centre
64,934 - Bosch service centre
68,878 - Bosch service centre
The car was last serviced and MOT'D November 23
The Interior is in good condition, the rear seats have probably only been sat on a few times in its lifetime.
Not many bad points, However, it's an 11 year old car, there are stone chips to bonnet (most of the miles were done on the motorway) and a couple of minor imperfections (small scratch to wing mirror, pea sized ding to rear quarter panel), but very good for it's age. I wish I got it PPF'd, I will be doing that for my Yaris. The drivers Heated seat doesn't seem to warm up. Needs investigating, The Monza wheels have a couple minor kerb rashes & suffer from the usual VW diamond cut wheel corrosion.
First to see will buy, it's a very rare 1 owner car that's been very well looked after. I'd love the car to go to someone who will look after it as well as I have.
