Renault Clio 3.0 V6 Phase 1 3dr

A spin off from the Renault Clio Trophy race car series the Clio V6 Phase 1 was previewed at the Paris Motor Show in 1998 and finally made production in 2001. The car was heavier than the 172 Cup and was considerably more powerful. The rear seats were removed and a 3.0V6 engine producing 230HP was mid mounted to produce a 2 seat, mid engined, rear wheel drive hot hatch. All of the Phase 1 cars were hand built by TWR (Tom Walkinshaw Racing) in a factory in Sweden with the parts being supplied by Renault France. Performance was brisk in the day with a 146mph top speed and 0 60mph in 6.2 seconds. The phase 1 cars were built for just 2 years and only 1,513 cars were built in total with just 256 cars destined for the UK. Of these 256 UK cars, the majority were Iceberg Silver with just 8 Illiad Blue and 25 Mars Red produced. According to information Website How Many Left there are only 158 cars left registered with the DVLA with only 37 taxed for road use. Previously sold by ourselves in 2019 and due in with us soon, our car is one of the rare low production Mars Red cars with a build number of 101 displayed on the centre console plaque. It was registered in June 2002, has had just two previous keepers and has a low mileage of 57,000. The handbooks are within the car and the stamped up service book and MOT history verifies the low mileage. Invoices with the car show major expenditure including servicing, cambelt replacement, gearbox rebuild with new clutch and a suspension overhaul with original equipment parts and 4 wheel alignment. Prior to supplying the Clio to a local collector, a comprehensive photographic restoration was carried out in our workshops to the highest standard. The car has covered less than 1,000 miles since and the condition remains pretty much as it left us. We are confident that it is one of the nicest cars available and worthy of any collector.
