1978 TVR TAIMAR

One of the rarest TVR models produced. Only 3 Taimar Turbos were produced to the Special Edition specifications and one retrospectively produced.

This car left the factory in 1978 as a standard Turbo and returned in 1982 to have a factory conversion to SE specification and its colour changed to red. All this is documented with letters and orders from the TVR Factory.

The SE spec included new bonnet, flaring arches, new wheels, electric windows, walnut dashboard, retrim with wool carpets, leather seats, and full respray to Red.

The car was also owned by Hill climb record breaker, Sandra Tomlin, who in addition to road use, hill climbed the car and improved the engine and power.

Since then its had three A4 folders worth of works including, body off restoration, engine rebuild to 3024cc, conversion to unleaded, Turbo rebuild and too much more for this ad.

Spec is Broadspeed Blueprinted Ford V6 3.0l Essex and Garret turbocharger.

It sits on fully adjustable suspension and Compomotive Split rim wheels.

This is rare piece of TVR history ready to be driven away and enjoyed.
